This version looks awesome though but its an original story and I'd still like to see an identical port of the original by Radastan. Any news on this?

Come on, if he didn't do it for 11 years, he won't do it. He probably dropped it years ago in some initial stage just didn't have the courage to admit it on forums.

I made a lot of graphics, a lot of code, all very nice and similar to Vampire Killer... And the "question" arrived. Anyone will play a version you can play from years... Or play an inspired version, more arcade, Sinclair exclusive.

I decided to make an original and fresh game, i am in a constant evolution on graphics and code, collaborating on many projects... Yes it is very slowly, but the only way to make a Castlevania game for zx spectrum with guarantees of quality.

I'm still on it, sorry for no notices, i hope you would be pleased with the final result.

I have talked to Sanchez about Castlevania progress.

    That's what he says:
Выход немного задерживается - за прошлый месяц в игре очень много всего поменялось, много времени было потрачено на тестирование и балансировку.
Сейчас идет окончательное тестирование, переписываются диалоги, так-же жду картинку для заставки, и еще нужно будет сделать финалкат.
    Релиз, ориентировочно, намечен на Halloween.

The release is delayed a little bit - in last month a lot has changed in the game, a lot of time went for testing and balance finding.
Now the final testing is going, dialogues are being adjusted, I'm waiting for loading screen picture and final cut has to be done too. The release is going to happen on Halloween, more or less.

I've seen some screenshots. In fact there are going adjustments all the time, some quite small but usually make it nicer to watch.

Its weird not to see any comment regarding the upcoming rel?ase of such a good game like this, and instead a lot of posting in other chit/chat things, maybe people are losing interest in Spectrum, could be.

It looks really good, and if the game, or at least the demo was quite impressive, if these improvements are going to make the product even better, I dont mind at all. It will also give me some extra weeks for the translation to Spanish, as Im still at a 70% :D

Well, I'm waiting with great expectation, very great expectation indeed. =)

Just do not want to post annoying comments "it is not finished yet??" .. as Bart and Lisa does in car travel..

Yes, it's a bit saddening that people prefer to talk on Spectrum forum about some stupid fake pope cap ( http://www.worldofspectrum.org/forums/showthread.php?t=48820 ) than upcoming megagame :(

Personally I played all the beta version, it's real and could tell about it (but not share it). Yet I'm not going to talk to myself.

So to sum it up - it's going to be great. Everybody who cares won't be dissapointed.

Hope this sees the light of day, but since it's looking so promising I'd be worried Konami slap it with a C&D before it's finished.

Hope t'internet isn't full of too much hype about the game? Or it may get kiboshed before it's finished.

It looks great and I'm looking forward to playing it when it's finished.

The only negative thing I could say is that some of the backgrounds in the July screenshots made the sprites look a bit cryptic, but it looks like the refinements have tried to address that already.

Anyway, it's Sanchez, of course it's going to be good :-D

Actually it is finished (something like). I have a work in progress version on my hard drive (but I'm not sharing it now) and you can play it without any problems from start to final battle with Dracula.

Now it needs intro, outro and adjustments which I'm quite sure that Sanchez will deliver. But still, if he won a lottery or fell in love ;) and abandoned the project, we have the game already.

Next, they'll do a simplified version of one of the later "Metroidvania" games for the Speccy, including equipment options ... and one of the items will be called "Pope's Cap" ;)

I can let other eyes read this thread in other forums and social nets, so people will know what's going on with this project. If, as an example, I could give some previews in my retrogaming blog without knowing the actual state of its development, I only would give uncomplete information, unless the game is almost finished.

It's better to wait until it's finished to give our points of view here, there and everywhere. Such important game needs our best words once played.

Well, no news from Sanchez :(

I won't be pushing him for new deadlines. It's done when it's done I suppose.

It is 95% ready but anybody with some experience knows that the last 5% can take a really long time compared to the rest.

I apologize for the delay, and please wait a little more - the game must come in 2014.

Hm. Actually I cannot state which one is better/nicer.
Both look good to me and the differences could be just used in various places to make the game more diversified.

The version on the right looks cleaner. Although I like dither for halftones, too much makes the image look dirty. But both look good :)

Hi to all! Which is the latest demo version? Any link?
    Need it !!!*toxic*
I'd like to know when the full version will be released.
    Thank you very much!
  • edited November 2014
There isn't any new demo available to public.

I have a work in progress version but Sanchez asked me not to give it to anybody :)
  • edited November 2014
ahaha, ok, where's the older demo? :)
  • edited November 2014
The only demo released to the public is this one:

    http://www.pouet.net/prod.php?which=62678

It differs a lot from final version but may give you some taste of upcoming game.

I like the stonework on the right, but the greenery on the left. The lamps in both are very good.

    the game itself is finished.
    polish translation is done.
    english translation is done.
    intro is done for 99%

    things in the work:
    1. game ending
    2. spanish translation
    3. some additional work maybe as TR-DOS version with disk saves, etc.

I can barely wait for this! This game is going to make having my spectrum permanently set up all worth it!
  • edited December 2014
I will be waiting for the english texts to do the Spanish translation ;)
  • edited December 2014
As a person involved in translation I can confirm that it is almost ready.

We can't be 100% sure, but I would check closely what Santa drops under Christmas tree this year ;)
