5v reg replacement
Hi all,
Have been playing with one of my Issue 2 Spectrums and decided to replace the 5v regulator & heatsink with this wee switching reg I had lying around from my RC days. Thought it might interest some.
input range is 6.3v to 30vdc
output is 5vdc @ 1A (continuous)
pin compatible with the original TO-220 package.

PS. Yes I did notice that R55 looks like it's had more than it's fair share of current through it.....it's a series resistor on the -5vdc rail........It's on the todo list.

We discussed this mod quite recently here. Good to see another variant of it though, and especially good to know that that style of switch mode reg fits an issue 2 :)
