I haven't actually seen any of those, but I have heard lots about each of them. Grotesque is one that I will definitely check out at some point if I stumble upon it on my travels, but M-S-P just sounds like utter garbage really, and the Human Centipede films just seem daft. I have heard that the sequel is extremely hard to sit through though, so I'll no doubt rise to the challenge at some point, being the way that I am. :D
You're not missing much with M-S-P as it's really quite boring and despite it's claims, most of the violence happens in cut-aways and via shadows on the walls. Only the sexual violence happens on camera and I don't find that sort of thing entertaining, so I'm in no rush to watch it again. It's mostly boring to be honest. Grotesque is pretty good though.
Human Centipede 2 is much nastier than the first one, which was really very tame to be honest! Everything you'd think would be in the first one pretty much is in the second one. If it wasn't filmed in black and white, it would be really gory, but the black and white picture kind of helps tone it down a bit, but it's still a hard film to sit through. The only bit of colour in the whole film is....
Spoiler:
The main story of the film is that this guy is a fan of the original movie and so sets out to make his own centipede, using 12 or so people. He wants to get the the bit where they start crapping in each others mouth, but he gets fed up of waiting, so he injects them all with a powerful laxative, which gets things moving so to speak ;-) Because of the way he's joined them all, there's a lot of room for the **** to start flying. It's the crap that is in colour! This is also the part that had me roaring with laughter as it's just so OTT and he runs around squeezing everyone to make them crap more and more too! But directly after this scene, there's another one that brings you right back down and is really nasty :-(
Belgian psychological horror. It's described as 'survival horror for the arthouse crowd'. That's good enough for me :) If you like weird and dark humour this is excellent.
Did you notice that you actually here the same groaning sound effect in the climax of both films?
hah, no but doesn't surprise me
my stepdad had Duel taped off the telly on video when I was about 8. used to watch it loads but it was missing the crucial last couple of minutes cause the tape ran out. wasn't till 10+ years later that I actually saw the ending...
Never watched Svankmajer's films, looks to me this is like surreal/morbid/humorous/symbolic stuff ? In that case you may like :
Bu?uel's Simon of the Desert,
La double vie de Veronique,
or perhaps some of the David Lynch's films

Fantastic film!

I did watch the whole of the first one (Piranah 3D) even though it was pretty crap, the hyped up Kelly brook naked swim scene was a bit meh
prefer the the original 70s ones (Piranha 2 being the first film David Cameron directed, wonder if he's proud of that?)
edit meant James Cameron, not David. lol
Cheers Hikoki will watch them.
