When the misses was spending months at a time in Malta and I was stuck here we used it every day to have a chat. Since we sold the place there I haven't used it once. Saved a fortune on phone calls though.
Many moons ago a few of the denizens of #speccy had a skype chat one evening which was rather fun. In more recent times the weapon of choice was a google+ hangout which was much easier to set up and supports multi-way video chat which was also somewhat hilarious. Dunno if skype has that feature these days because I've not used it for yonks. :)
Skype just "updated" on my Windows phone which was odd as I didn't even know it was there  So, I decided to give it a try, but it insisted I logged in with my old MSN user details and I've not used that in years as my contact list on that is full of people who no longer use it or I stopped taking to. It's given me the option of "linking" my other Skype account, but I don't want to combine them, so I won't be using it!
I have it on my laptop because a friend at work said it would be fun to talk on that rather than the Facebook chat, but she never answers if I try calling her so I don't bother with that one either. To be honest, my room is too dark for a video chat to work anyway.

That is about right.... everybody stopped using it as soon as Microsoft bought it. It's also part of Microsoft Lync now on Office 360 but I only know one business that has taken it up for any real use.
I don't have an actual Skype address, just used to use my old msn address but these days have about 3 people on there, used to have about 200 back in my streets forum days

Im guessing it's impossible due to the skype audio compression but has anyone tried playing a speccy tape over skype to another pc wired into a speccy and see if it loads it.

You and your +2? You bragging about having a threesome??
