I have had an idea to try to give a boost to the Spectrum scene, so maybe you are interested... ;)

yer, so do I have an idea .. avoid selling to a dunce minority of UK folk on here who slate me elsewhere behind my back (funny I found out though).. due to their slow paying. and other "issues" like tyre kicking..funny that 4 off them contacted me about buying games, after I got banned from spectrum4ever... yet were happy to be rather rude about me on the same token :D

for whatever BS they chat, my feedback tells a different story.

in other words it won't work as it's been tried before.. and it takes a few bad eggs not paying and mucking folk around to get tired quickly.

At least give him chance to explain his idea....

www.sellmyretro.com has proved a good workable site - I now sell 80% of my items through there and paid for the site with the savings on ebay fees! Over 2200 users registered on the site, and all of them good retro computer users (as they soon get removed by me if not!)

We also get higher results in google than ebay - the thing is persuading more people to look on google or sellmyretro.com in preference to ebay for what they want!

So, I guess there is always a place for niche sites - it depends what the idea is and how well it is implemented / supported...

Yes, Im explaining in private my idea, because I dont know if it will be possible to make it real, but I really do think it would be interesting ;)

As for fog?s reply, I dont really understand why you posted something like that, and I cant even understand half of the post, so...

well if it involves selling / trading anything.. do it for 6 months and you soon get a "hint" of how some are and the effort vs sales.

@Fog: No, things are not that way exactly, this is something different with new releases of Spectrum games and participation of the scene as main factor.

I contacted some other sellers that are registered here in WoS, although I dont know if they will read it as they barely have activity here...

Anybody knows how to contact The Attic Bug? and Rockrabilia? I tried here but I think they will never read the PM.

Both David and Anna (of The Attic Bug) are on Facebook - we used to be FB friends.

Still, the easiest way to contact them would probably be through Mark Jones.

true, but on the other token you know yourself the margins or lack of , on certain things that lots sell (e.g. the bankrupt stock , the same titles many folk have got) . the margins aren't simply there realistically for more parties to be taking a slice of the cake.

Macc already mentioned it recently when he was at a show, sure it's nice to talk about games.. but when you are dragging em about and paying to sell them on, then you don't wanna be losing money.

boils down to time vs reward, and the "rewards" aren't there for lower priced items.
