I was trying to remember the name of a TV show that was broadcast in the early/mid 80's on BBC2, if i remember it was a bit like Knightmare where a room was a kind of puzzle and people had to work out how to get through, and i remember there were people directing them from somewhere in the studio, i can't remember the name but it may have had 'adventure' in the title.
Google threw up nothing.

IIRC when players got swallowed by the vortex they end up in a completely dark room. The other players could see them on a night vision camera and had to direct them past obstacles to the exit.

Just watched a few Youtube clips, it looks laughably primitive now! It also had Moira Stewart in it!

Bizarre! Kinda like a more scripted version of The Crystal Maze, with a splash of Knightmare.

I loved this as a kid! No-one else my age seemed to watch it near me, or at least couldn't remember it when I went on about it years later!

Iinspired many a Pirates-style game with my brother, cousins and I, balancing on whatever was at hand so we didn't succumb to the Vortex! :D

Featuring a poor mans Judith Hann / Maggie Philbin rip off. Very 80's.

Judith Hann was to the 80's what Carol Verderman was to the 00's (i.e used to justify spurious adverts).

I actually worked out the drogna currency though, they never revealed what it involved. It was colour of rainbow red = 1, orange = 2, yellow = 3, in roygbiv mnemonic, multiplied by number of sides of shape in coin. So red circle = 1 drogna, green square = 4 x 4 drogna, etc.

It was revealed in the show, season 3, one of the later ones.

Argons around the Pond was much harder to work out, but utterly trivial once you knew...

'Argonds', wasn't it? Since everything was an anagram of the word 'Dragon'.
