Sea Dragon on a 48K

edited October 2014 in Games
Anyone had This game working on 48K?

The archive says it does, but no joy on emulator or hardware so far.

Great game, used to play it on the Apple 2e, 20 years ago.

I've used fuse to emulate a 48k with a Betadisk 128, and the game loads correctly.

I've tested the tzx version and it only works on russian models.
    I was there, too
An' you know what they said?
Well, some of it was true!

using spectaculator, just tried it on pentagon 128 and 48k rubber key, works.. guess it's timing critical due to the scrolling ?

whats the machine model your using ?

works in 48k mode from the menu *not* the loader, if that's what you are using... I get that the odd time with people who buy things, then assume the tape is at fault when it's they need to be loaded in 48k mode

I'm trying to load it through a DivMMC EnJOY on a rubber-key 48K Spectrum.

The closest I can get it to work is with a Z80 file, but that still crashes.

ok.. thats an important fact you neglected to mention , best ask ben about it... must be a clash with it , or the timing mucking up.

silly question , but you made a snapshot in the emulator in 48k mode and not 128k ?

Yes I did ? it might have something to do with the game requesting tape side B?

I get an error on screen
    D BREAK - CONT repeats, 200:1

A snapshot is a "picture" of the current status of the computer, it does not hold any other data. Making snapshots from multiload games is useless, because the loads won't be there.

Also, you're using a divide... how about using ESXDOS? It emulates TR-DOS so you could load the TRD file.

I tried the .TRD by loading to slot A, it didn't work, so I tested loading TRDs just to be sure and other TRDs worked fine. Strange.

Good to know about Snapshots not holding multi-load info though.

Thanks Goodboy, the Z80 works perfectly!
    - How did you make the file without saving as snapshot?

    Cheers! :D

GoodBoy used emulator's breakpoint in the start address of the game then saved it.
