Uncontrollable laughter

edited November 2014 in Chit chat
When was the last time you were creased up laughing and why? Not just a 'lol' but uncontrollable laughter that nearly hurts.

I can think of two occasions, both related to base humour. In fact I'd be interested to know if we ever properly laugh from anything sophisticated!

Once a friend had really bad wind, and kept doing terrible cauliflowery farts. We went out in another friend's car and he warned him not to let one go in it, at some point in the journey a farty miasma appeared and the car owner went mad. The combination of these two factors left me literally creased up in fits of laughter.

The other was Al Murray's 'Ich liebe dich' skit, I laughed so hard I squeezed my eyeball.

So what are yours?

One was a YTS dinner time after it had been snowing. We were all outside and just generally dicking around with the snow. I compacted a snowball, pretended to throw it at one lad and swivelled on a sixpence and launched it in the general direction of a lad who was standing on a bench about 30m away. It was going to miss him, but for some reason he moved his head directly towards it, it hit him plum on the forehead and made him somersault backwards over the back of the bench. He had a pair of black eyes and a bruise in the middle of his forehead for days.

Every time I meet up with one of the lads who witnessed it (which is about once every 5 years) we crease up in laughter as soon as we see each other. The first thing that enters our heads is the impact and that guy doing a perfect back flip.

Another was watching I'm Alan Partridge (season 1) when it was first broadcast. The tale of Michael "hoying" his monkey into the sea after eating all his duty free fags just tickled me. Me and the missus went to bed, tried to get to sleep but I just couldn't stop giggling about it. Eventually she kicked me out the bedroom to sleep on the sofa...

It's been so long I forget.

I so want one of those belly laughs. If anyone could reccomend anything (other than drugs) to give me one I'd be happy.

Can't remember laughing like that for ages.

The instance that sticks in my mind the most was the first time I watched Monty Python's 'Life of Brian' on video with my old man when I was about 12.. Specifically the scene where Pilate says "I have a vewwy gweat fwiend in Wome called Biggus Dickus!" and starts punishing the centurions for cracking up about it. We were doubled up watching that.

I also remember 'Porky's' being really funny when I watched it for the first time when I was about 13 or 14.

There was also this one instance in my business studies class in high school. Our teacher was really old and I don't know what was going on in her head.

We were in a group discussing different brands of trainers and sportswear for the class. This one girl mentioned a brand of trainers and the teacher was passing by and said "how disgusting! Go and stand outside!" and the rest of us said "What!? What for? She didn't say anything!" so the teacher told us all to get out.

There were about five of us, and we were all stood outside the classroom, wondering what the hell was going on.

Eventually the teacher came out and indignantly snapped "Well? What do you have to say for yourselves?" We were all trying not to crack up laughing and couldn't answer. Then the teacher says "you are all VERY NAUGHTY CHILDREN!" (we were about sixteen) and one lad bursts out laughing, which sets us all off, and we pissed our sides for about a minute at least, while she stood there and glared at us.

Eventually we managed to compose ourselves, and then she goes "Well, I DON'T THINK IT'S FUNNY!" which set us all off again.

In the end she just sent us back into the classroom and we sat down and carried on with out work, still wondering what the hell all that was about..

I tend to have spells of doing this, and the last time was about a month ago.

We'd visited Blackpool Zoo as a family and taken some snaps of the animals as one does. My gf put a lot of them up on facebook, and I noticed a random Man's name was tagged on one of the gorilla pictures.

She didnt know the man, so she certainly did not do this. When I investigated and checked who he was, he was rather stocky and in a vague way, his head resembled the rough shape of a gorillas. He was also a friend of a friend (on facebook) I assumed that some special facial recognition software had matched his name and tagged him, 'thinking' that it was him in the pics.
I was killing myself laughing for ages at this, it really tickled me. Poor fella, innocently insulted by software that decides he has more than a passing resemblance to a Gorilla...

Oh yes, someone mentioned Life Of Brian. When Comic Relief first started Barry Norman did a funniest sketches in film bit. The stoning scene was one of them. It was the first time myself and a mate saw it and we couldn't stop laughing for some couple of hours.

    Are there any women here?

I was at a friends BBQ several years ago (year 2000 I think) and it had started raining so we made a beeline for the living room where there was several fold up chairs (ones with plastic seats). I was sat on the settee. One guy came in and sat on one of the fold up chairs. Anyhow, we're all chatting away then all of a sudden, there's this almighty "CRACK!" and the guy promptly fell through the chair. His arse was completely stuck!

Fortunately, he saw the funny side. It was a good ten minutes before we could free him - once we all stopped laughing lol.

Used to know someone who'd server from nervous laughter - he'd start with a tough grin, but progress to a sort of semi-maniacal chuckle if he got caught off-guard by something stressful. He once got lost in the huge one-armed-bandit hall in the ground floor of his hotel in LA (they're designed like those department stores where they try to conceal any line of sight to outside light or the exits, and the only place to stop and sit is facing a machine) and he was just walking around for ages cackling himself into exhaustion.

Titter, good call. The 'Medibot' bit in a later series has a similar effect on me.

I was saying things like "So he swept you off your feet and then made a clean getaway" etc between laughs and breaths

Another vote for Life of Brian here - "found this spoon, sir!" still cracks me up

Usually it's that moment when you and a friend are in a silly mood and by the end you're laughing at each other's hysterical laughter more than the thing you're laughing at!

Is that the one where they go into the wild? If so, yes. The snare trap still makes me spill my coffee. :)
