8% It's like a much less trampy Special Brew

Sounds like my kind of poison! I'm temporarily off the booze at the moment though until I shake off this bloody cold (17 days and counting)

What is "Scotch Ale" though? Sounds like an American marketing thing, I've never seen "Scotch Ale" on, erm, Scottish ale over here.
can i just post snakebite on every page?

Urgh, snakebite. I can stomach most drinks but draw the line at that...

A cold, I hear you say?

Maybe it would've helped with a beer like the one I had last night. At 18.2% it's great medicine for a sore throat.

It's a dark beer kind of like really thin stout, pretty much the only other scotch ale I've ever heard of or seen before this was McEwans Best Scotch, which as far as I know is a north east thing. The McEwans stuff is favoured by old men and people who tend to drink in CIU and Working Mens Clubs, it's nasty stuff.

The old Chub caught my eye simply because it was scotch, and I never thought I'd ever see that in any form in the USA? Plus it was about 5% stronger than McEwans so I was like well I'll try it, and see what it' like.

Gotta be careful ordering a pint of scotch anywhere other than Newcastle afaik or you'll end up with a pint of whiskey that ends up costing about 25 quid :D

Going a bit Sokurah here :D, this Fell Robust Porter is particularly nice.

It doesn't have quite the body of the stronger stouts and porters, but it comes very close and is delicious. Also being normal strength, one bottle won't floor you.

Ooof! How does it compare to Brewdog's weaker (10% and less!) Stouts? I'm tempted to give it a go, but only if it offers more than their usual double strength ones.

Standard Carlsberg for me. Which means I'll probably have the green splats tomorrow.

...should probably try drinking this stuff on March 16th?

I'm not actually that bad. Had a cheeseburger, chips and garlic bread for tea and it's seeing me through alright.

I will be half cut though before I hit the hay...I guarantee it!
