spammers offering jobs now

edited November 2014 in Chit chat
With a subject of "Job in your location" and a message starting "International company is looking for a new employee of Administrative Assistant team across the United Kingdom." [sic], followed by several paragraphs of fiction and ending with "please reply back with your contact details and CV. Our anybody without first obtaining their permission." [sic] this pathetically obvious spam arrived this morning.

I haven't opened the email, I just dumped it to text to look at it, so I don't know what the "International company" is supposed to be, as it's not mentioned in the message text. The sender is supposed to be "Schwarz Julietta" at "schwarzjfyulycioketta@outlook.com". You may notice that removing the characters of the sender's name from the email name leaves "FYYC OK", which isn't very nice, is it?

Is that really the first time you've seen anything like that? I've been getting those for years!

Most spam sent to my accounts must be intercepted by BT or someone else up the line, as I rarely see any. I had a small flurry in September, and this is the only one since then. I only get a handful a year, and this is the first one that I've ever seen with a bogus job offer, even thinking back to the early days - say 15-20 years ago - when I got loads of spam.

You should check out the government's official job page "Universal Jobmatch"...that's pretty much all that's on there! :D

Actually its likely to be a real job offer for a bunch of criminals.

One common variant is basically a mule operation, they get some unsuspecting punter to transfer ?x to your bank account, you transfer on ?x-10% (you retain your fee) to the criminals or another mule in the chain. Original punter realises they have been scammed complains, bank either rolls back the transfer or you get a knock on the door from the Police. At best you end up out of pocket for doing the dirty work.

You know, for some reason, the jobcentre has never ever called me or written to me about any jobs I might be interested in. I am the only person I know that this has happened to, and not one of the jobs I've had was gained with any assistance or even involvement of the jobcentre.

I have however been subject to spurious sanctioning by the jobcentre in the past on trumped up evidence, so if they ever DO start contacting me, they can go take a **** to themselves. Since I'm working at the moment, it's not likely they'll be contacting me anyway.

Like the pranksters who placed 'ads' there supposedly from 'MI6' for a Target Elimination Specialist, experienced in using sniper rifles, jet packs and mini-subs.

Or the best one imo 'a courier' for Cosa Nostra Holdings International!!
