identify game music is in this demo

edited November 2014 in Games
hi guys,
ran across this nice russian demo - but while enjoying the music playing in the background, suddenly it broke my concentration with a tune, that I'm sure is taken from a certain speccy game, which I for the hell can't get the name of... :-x

it's the intro of the "ELEKTRONIKA" part of the demo at 13:36 - 13:40, then the music differs from the original tune in the unknown game... which one is it???? please

The tune you are referring to is from the Amstrad version of Agent X II although it's a different version to the original.

ah, strange discovery... you nailed it, in a way, but I'm specifically looking for a ZX Spectrum game - never had Amstrad, and never played or seen the one you've found, so it must be something else.
oh - and 48k, as well. never had 128k so it surely will be made on beeper.

I sort-of recognise it... I'm thinking it's an in-game tune from a budget game but can't place it right now...

    and yes, 48k not 128k...

Can't place the game. Reminds me of something on the C16 but I can't think what.

    Great demo though!

This is a bit embarrassing but... it's 'Go West' by the Pet Shop Boys.

D'you know what, I think it's originally off an arcade game, not a Speccy game... can't think which one though and it's far too late to check on MAME... need sleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep

No, you're right - it has been in an arcade game. I can hear it in my head and almost see the game it's from! But it eludes me dammit!
