What game is this screenshot from, please?

Someone posted on Gamefaqs asking what game this is from:

and so far no one has been able to place it. The "NOPE" was probably added afterwards (and is not part of the game), of course, but what is the game called?

    You could go through this list of FPS games and try a compare. A Google image comparison came up with nothing.

    If you select Image search in Google and drag the picture file onto the page then a box opens up with "Drop Image Here" and it will upload the file and search for visually similar images (although that big 'NOPE' in the middle probably messes up the matching routine a bit). Adding some search text - eg. "fps bomb" or "sci-fi fps" or whatever - narrows down the matches. It shows a small selection of matches and then clicking on the link usually gives loads more.

    A very distinctive element of the picture is the energy bar with the circle at the right-hand end at the top centre of the screen. Very few matching images have the energy bar in this location, and after browsing through hundreds of similar images I've not found any which have that same one. When browsing through them it's only necessary to scan the top of each image for that bar, so a lot of pictures can be scanned quite quickly.

    Oh, just remembered ... Is that text stamped onto the metal platform at the right-hand side? If so, and you can decipher it, that might give another clue. It appears to be upside down, but I couldn't make out what it was.

    you could crop one of the features, like the energy bar and do a search for that?

    Checked screenshots of some games that came to mind, but no match. Googling for "Locate and get the bomb" also didn't provide any leads.

    Perhaps it's not a well known game, but a game mod (= a modification of some other game). That would greatly expand the # of possibilities... :evil:

    No clue as to where original image came from? (beyond "posted on Gamefaqs", that is)

    When I saw the screenshot it reminded me of this.....

    Sorry sorry sorry! I thought I'd posted the answer here, I mush have forgotten (or not clicked 'Submit Reply'*).

    Anyway, a member of Vogons thinks it is Scorpion: Disfigured (no, I've never heard of it, either)

    and the screenshots' HUD does match, so it looks like that is the game. Thanks to Stefan_L of Vogons (http://www.vogons.org/) for that.

    It seems to be a very obscure game, so it's not surprising it was so hard to identify.
