This is a very sad event on many levels. One day humanity may learn to live in peace with itself but I don't think it will happen in my lifetime.

    Regards,

    Shaun.

Sorry to be such a downer (and to be agreeing with weesam  ), but things like this happens and it'll keep on happening. Why? Because there are some crazy religious people out there that doesn't think like normal resonable people.

We've seen it in many cities around the world - New York, Barcelona, etc. This time it was in Paris. London will happen too. Probably also Berlin at some point. There was an attempt in Copenhagen a couple of years ago too - someone tried to bomb the most busy trainstation because of the "muhammed Drawings" ('muhammed' intentionally spelled with a lowercase first letter of out disrespect). The bigger the city, in their mind, the better.

As long as those fvcked up muslims (not all muslims - just the crazy religious ones) are alive they'll keep on killing. There's nothing they'd like more than to strike terror in the heart of everyone who thinks differently than them.

On a more serious note. Doesn't it strike anyone how very odd - even suspicious - it is that the perps "accidentally" drop their ID in the getaway car? ...that they have to rob a gas station for food and money (how do you plan a thing like this...and not plan your escape?) and that one of them even turns himself in afterwards - saying he had an alibi?

Either they're incredibly stupid...or they've been set up.

Such an action has got you thinking, how it is inevitable? Really? Have you been living in a bubble?

    b*llocks!

you continue to live in incredulity.

    next time it happens - and it will - somebody (or a mass of people) will be killed for what they said, what they did, who they are; you'll be thinking, "now, that was unexpected..";

    really?

you are truly that naive about human behaviour?

They will be caught very soon but i doubt the police will take them alive, they will be killed in an Expendables-style shoot out.

If you mean some kind of Islamic terrorist attack, it was hit in 2005.
It has had a lot more trouble from the IRA and other 'terror attacks'. Scores and scores of them.

Yeah, I remembered that after I wrote the post. My god - has it already been 9.5 years. Crazy how time flies. Still, I'm pretty sure there was a botched attempt 3-4 years ago too.

I'm sure it'll happen again. Not by the IRA though (that whole thing is pretty much over) but by muslims.

Nice post on another forum: http://www.yakyak.org/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=85735

Which I happen to agree with wholeheatedly. It's quite uplifting that we've not had any "Je suis Charlie" sentiment on here - FB is full of it atm.

Sadly it's a situation that can only get worse.

Fighting this kind of thing is the stuff of nightmares for any security organisation.

I predict troops being deployed to the middle east pretty sharpish, and the french wanting in on the action.

I'm watching my Muslim co-workers closely, just in case.

Let's just hope the Buddhists don't kick off, cos then we'd be -really- screwed.

Seems fairly inevitable that there'll be some sort of overreaction doesn't it. Governments are stupid and Average Joes are even stupider. :(

There's already been crazies spouting guff about extra security and ID cards etc despite France having them and clearly making no difference

It is not that strange that this should happen, just like the passport of a " terrorist " which survived the 911 crash, the burning and falling building, but is picked up off the street with very little damage. Perhaps it is so that we " know " who to blame, it seems that the done thing is to keep people scared and running, that way they will fail to see the big picture.

Why because I happened to say b*llocks about you making a ridiculous speculation that I've been living in a f**king bubble?

I choose to live my life how I choose to live it, without any incredulousness, I'm well aware of what happened and I believe it happened and I do believe it will probably happen again sometime. I think saying the attack was inevitable was a bit obtuse. I suppose the 2 hostage situations in Paris today were inevitable as well?

No I won't be expecting it, because I generally don't sit and wait in front of Fox News every day waiting to hear about the inevitable terror attacks that are happening everywhere every second of the day, so that I can say to myself "Oh well I knew that was gonna happen".

I am noticing the recurring " move on there is nothing to see here " pattern to yours, perhaps we should all be innocent enough to believe everything we are told, or perhaps not !

Someone has to question things and when you have lived as long as I have, I have seen enough lies and deception from the people we are supposed to trust. Still some people have to believe in Father Christmas and the tooth fairy, I just choose not to be one of them.

I am happy and proud to wear my tin foil hat, it not only prevents the Alien signals from getting through, it also filters out the lies and deceptions which are constantly being fed to the gullible, I have plenty to spare as Sainsbury have a special offer on it.

    are you seriously this dim?

What is inevitable is the action.

Are you that dim to raise the question of the exact location and nature of a future crime simply from the inevitability of a future action. The mind boggles. Average Joes indeed.
