That helped get my O level English, for the oral part I did a book review on HHGTG and that was the section I read out. They liked it so much I had to do it again in front of the district examiners.

I'm not worried about oil running out but i'll be worried when there's no BBQ Beef hula hoops left:grin:

I'm sure that Nostradamus predicted that the world would end when the last bag of BBQ Beef Hula Hoops had been eaten;)

Well, maybe not the whole world from everyone's perspective, but certainly the whole world from his perspective. I must admit that even as a Vegan I can confidently say Beef Hula Hoops are unparalleled.

Damnaggit. When my parents asked Son, what do you want for Christmas. I should have told them to send me over an assorted box of Monster Munch and Rula Roops.

I don' know whats wrong with the wealthy, f*ck caviar, Truffles and Lobster Thurmidor, Monster Munch and Rula Roops is where it's at. We could serve them like Nachos with melted mature cheddar on top, and then a nice pint of stout to go with it.

Is that the Indian version? :)

Monster munch pickled onion are the best, sure they dont taste quite the same now as when I was a kid tho... I think theyve tried to make them healthier by taking bad stuff out, but that always means less tasty!

Yep! The Space Raider ones are nice and cheaper! Only 20p a packet in some local shops.
    Also, what's a Rula Roop?

I like how this thread has turned from the meaning of life into a discussion about crisps! My fault for mentioning Cheesy Dibbles!

I was brainwashed by this thread into buying a big bag of assorted Monster Munch today just to try the pickled onion ones, I am too easily influenced. I don't think I have EVER tried Monster Munch since they came out about 100 years ago !

I must applaud the wisdom of stocking up on comfort food in event of disaster of cataclysmic proportions like a nuclear winter.

Only problem remaining might be after you descend the ladder into your underground shelter and find out someone has already eaten the 3 month supply of Hula Hoops.

does anyone feel like reading old spectrum mags and playing old spectrums games helps to bring them back to a time when things were simpler?

I still read a Your Sinclair or Your Spectrum mag almost every day. Pick one from the stack and thumb through it when bored or want a few mins to relax.

Sometimes I load a game up and just leave it running in the background while i'm mucking about on the laptop. Just to hear the loading noise and then some beepy title tunes or summat...

Tbh sometimes I really miss the 80's... :(
