Please can you help with three ocean games
Hi there
I'm collecting early ocean games from 82-84 , most of the ocean titles had the black background with red and blue writing on the spine of the cassette inlay, can anyone confirm that this same type of writing is on these titles
Armageddon
Digger Dan
Transversion
What I currently have is yellow background and black writing which says ?for any zx spectrum? to me this seems wrong as it does not follow the rest so can anyone confirm these are originals or re-release?
Thanks for your help on another note any one know about the new spectrum

I don't think any of these were rereleased. You can check the WoS archive by typing the game name in the search thingy at the top too.
I'm sure all early Ocean releases were like this, since they'd be 16k compatible. This should help: Ocean Games List*
*That links to the list here for all Ocean Software releases.

My games for the Spectrum: Dingo, The Speccies, The Speccies 2, Vallation, SQIJ.
Twitter: Sokurah
others publishers put 16/48 on the spine
Answer to that guys rescue question, i have spoke to a guy who is on facebook called ocean software he used to work there he does notthink rescue was ever relased even though there are adverts for it , whatOcean used to do bak then was advertise games and if they get enough orders they would then produce the game if not they let it drop one ocean game im after is robotics original anyone have that?
Cheers
Steve The third man
I've owned several copies of all three games over the years and the inlays in WOS are the same. I'm pretty certain there weren't any variations.
[strike]Also, isn't the "guy who is on facebook called ocean software" Mark R Jones? He'd definitely know and may well be along to join this thread shortly anyway. :)[/strike]
EDIT: Oops. Think I may be mistaken... if he is then he's forgotten his own middle name on one of the recent posts!
EDIT again... but then there was another Mark Jones, wasn't there so maybe I was right the first time???..... Oh sod it, I'm going back to sleep
You selling it?
the history of ocean? Very good. Looking forward to the history of U.S Gold coming soon :D
Have you got a link to that oceans 11 i cant find it anywhere its not even on wos in the archive?
Transversion (Speccy)
Armageddon (Speccy and C64)
Kong (Speccy)
Rescue (not!)
Digger Dan (Speccy)
Robotics (Speccy)
Mr.Wimpy (Speccy and C64)
Roller Ball (C64)
Caterpilla (Vic 20)
Road Frog (Oric 48k)
Tarantula (Oric 48k)
So where is the link to the cover of the cassette or have you made it up?
Count the titles and then the penny will drop!
And you still aren't getting it, I asked is this a ocean compelation title which was released? if so is there a link to the cover of the cassette and yes I know its a name of a film and not the one your thinking of boyo
Frank Dean Sammy 1960s version I'm thinking ,not the crap that was released in 2001
Yea, it was a play on the film title. Which ever one you like!
I have it, yes it's pricey but if you're into reading about 80's and 90's software house you'll probably enjoy it.
I did and i'm also looking forward to the US Gold book!
