I'm (almost) with Graz on this one: Aliens is brilliant, one of the best "movie to game" adaptations on any computer/console

that said, I don't think I ever lasted more than a couple of minutes playing it... was there even an Alien queen in the end?

I thought The Untouchables was a pretty good game. Sure it was an Ocean identi-kit title but it represented the movie very well.

Zombi wasn't bad either - i'm sure it counts, since it's effectively Dawn of the Dead... Although my recollections are mainly from the Amiga version...

It was quite a nice idea, but let down by a couple of the levels. The one where you have to roll incredibly slowly across the floor is almost unbearable. If it had just been a bit more responsive, it'd be heaps better (the C64 version is better at this aspect of the level, but let down by simplifying the remaining elements somewhat).

Funny, of the two, I prefer the 64 version, but not by much. Never noticed any real differences between the two versions.

I didn't think much of it when it came out tbh, but i'm sure others liked it.

Oh, nobody's mentioned Fantastic Voyage yet, have they? Thought that was excellent.

Nice graphics but i couldn't get anywhere in it.
The Great Escape is probably one of my favourite movie tie ins but i also like Rambo (the one in the jungle) and Robocop.

Yes, I have. Great game and good sci-fi film.

There are tonnes of Queen aliens in the game, though they're of a different design to the one in the film. Blimmin' scary as that's usually when the power goes and the lights go out. Queen aliens and hatching face-huggers. YIKES!

Nobody's mentioned Navy Seals by Ocean. Side A is very good.

I'd put a kind word in for "License to Kill" , "Total Recall" and also "Hudson Hawk". It's funny to think what a big deal movie licenses used to be. It's now an almost cast iron guarantee of a rubbish game. There were certainly some lazy and unplayable tie-ins on the Spectrum, but some really quality too.

I'd like to add the vector games 'Star Wars' and 'Empire Strikes Back'. Both were pretty playable - although the first one was more of an arcade conv than movie tie (fighter!)-in. In fact, given that does 3D Starstrike count?

Also the Return of the Jedi game was okay, not brill but not a completely lazy effort either.

They were all arcade conversions and none the worse for it.
