Trying to find a song !

Years ago, i reckon early 90's or late late 80's there was this song on the chart show.

I thought it sounded along the same sort of vein like Massive Attack 'unfinished sympathy', perhaps not but a bit like that.

It was from a group who did just one hit, i remember from the video there were two girls, looked a bit 'lezza' like (No not three non blondes), the first line of the song i'm sure was something like ...

"where is the purpose in my life.."

The chorus was something about ...

this is not _____, this is my life

Those lyrics are probably quite wrong (the chorus) but something along that line.

Anyone got any rough idea ? I'm sure it was out about 1990 round that time. Been trying to find it for ages as i loved it back then (probably crap now !) , any ideas please let me know.

    Soul II Soul had a song called Get A Life around that time, and that sounds a bit like what you described but not completely.

    Could that be it?

    Nah wasnt Soul II Soul, the group were 2 white short haired girls who wore flat shoes if you get my drift

    Great song back then, of course if anyone knows what it is i will of course 'cough' buy it from amazon ;)

    Seriously just wanna hear it once more to see if it was any good. I'm sure it was their only hit

    Excellent group that never made it big.

    Still got it on 7" vinyl!

    I always thought the skinhead woman was a lovely. I've got the Banderas cd single
    " she sells " that's quite good 2.

    Paul - Glad you found it!

    They had that other single ('She Sells') and I think an album was released but I'm guessing they didn't have the success because of their..lack of a glamorous image!
