I think I may have hit another bug and this one may stop me from completing it 100%
I've been collecting riddled trophies etc and decided to rinse one of the areas as much as I could. It's the movie studio area. In that section, there's a quiz show bit with at least 2 trophies in, but neither of the puzzles around them will activate. I tried everything I could think of, so eventually gave up and looked them up online. Turns out that I'd already been doing what was needed, but the button refused to activate and the gadget need to run the second one won't lock onto anything, rendering both puzzles unworkable!
I also had a glitch there where I'd just walk clean through 2 barrels too, so I'm hoping the area hadn't loaded correctly and if I go back then it'll all work. Otherwise, it'll mean me having to play all over again, just to finish the thing properly :(
I'm almost done with the story now. I'm about 80% complete in the story thread and 71% overall. I'm generally enjoying it, but the Batmobile stuff is still annoying me a bit.
It steers like a cow at times, making chasing things harder than it needs to be. The bloody stealth bits in it are still a pain in the arse, but I'm hoping I've finished with those now.
The Riddler stuff is really hard tho time too. I've beat all his courses, but the trophies are tough this time, especially the ones involving that poxy car :(
I've got the PC version running perfectly now and it's looking pretty spectacular with everything turned up to the max :-) It's still £12.99 on CdKey so I say get it!
I'm only about 5% in so far Bob, just done the bit @ Ace Chemicals where you have to use the Batmobile to higher/lower the lift and then face a helicopter with a few drone tanks - only had one go at that "boss" so far. Not done enough with the Batmobile yet to warrant hating it.
Isn't the whole Batmobile stuff against Batman's number one rule though? I thought that rule is he never kills anyone but that things running crims over, has what I presume is a gatling gun attached and fires homing missiles for christ's sake...

Yes, Batman never kills in the comics. Batman has changed over the decades, as different writers have given their interpretation of him, plus he's changed according to the laws/feelings/moral codes of the decades he's been published in, but the two constants are that he's always on the side of good and that he never takes human life.
He started out violent but wholesome (i.e. he never used more violence than was necessary) but then went less violent as the comic code conventions came into force in America (for a time, Alfred also disappeared and was replaced with Aunt somebody (I can't remember her name) as the people behind the comic code said that three men living together (Batman, Robin, and Alfred) would project images of homosexuality and corrupt the modern youth). It got so bad that the Batman comics started to feature Batman going to alien planets to fight robot armies or going underwater to fight mermen who were invading Atlantis, etc, as the writers were desperate to give Batman heroic stories, but were forced to limit his violence against human beings.
In the 1970s the comic codes were eased, and Batman once again went back to fighting humans (though sadly he still thought non-humans too. I personally think all of his enemies should be human, and not alien or superhuman) but with his wholesome violence-is-only-to-be-used-when-no-other-solution-is-possible principles intact. Then in the 1980s, starting with The Dark Knight Returns (I think, and BTW I didn't think much of this comic) Batman became a lot darker, being happy to use blackmail, threats of torture (and actually use mild torture) ,and even in extreme cases being willing to cripple serious criminals when lesser actions would also work. In these, Batman is sometimes portrayed as an obsessed psychopath, with his war against crime being the only thing he cares about. This version of Batman almost never has a girlfriend, as he has no desire for sex/romance/a life partner, and when he (as Bruce Wayne) does go out with a woman, it's for some crime-related reason, such as she is a secret criminal (which he knows or suspects), or her father is a gang-land boss, and Batman wants a source of imformation, etc.
But even this Batman never kills humans, no matter how depraved or evil they may be (and Batman never cripples the Joker, Two-Face, Killer Croc, etc, but that's because the stories have to allow for major villains to reappear in later stories and be able to cause carnage).
Sometimes some of the Batmobiles do have rocket launchers, guns, etc, amongst their armaments, but these are always used on non-human, non-manned targets, such as drones, robots, bridges, etc.
So yes, as you say, it makes no sense in the game that you can run over criminals, as no iteration of Batman (that I've ever read) would risk killing criminals.
Batman uses "non-lethal" ammo to shoot rioters with and the tanks etc are "remote controlled drones" so technically, he's not killing anyone. Also, you don't run anyone over. If you look closely, you'll notice people will bounce off the Batmobile due to an electronic forcefield type thing ;)
Having said that, one or two of his environmental attacks must be nothing other than lethal, like ramming someone face first into a live electric board.
I think the Batmobile is a Marmite thing. Some people seem to love it, others not so much. When it works well, it's good fun, but it's not as responsive as I'd like to be honest. In tank form, it's very slow and clunky and when in car mode, it can't seem to make its mind up about whether it wants to over steer or under steer.
I'm getting the hang of it though, but combat is still a pain in the arse when you're surrounded :(
I've just completed the main story and it's really quite good! Without trying to spoil things, it's hard to describe what happens, but my love for the Joker in this game was cemented at the end (he's not the Arkham Knight by the way) and was by far the highlight of the whole game!
All ice got now are the Riddled stuff and some land mines to clear out, which will lead me to one last boss fight and the second ending. But as clearing those means more tank battles, I'm in no rush to finish them. I'm stuck on one mine in particular, which h is almost underground and with barely any room to move and a ton of very hard to hit flying things, I've given up after about my 20th try over 4 days :(
I'm getting seriously bored of the tank drones now, so I understand what you were getting at now, Bob. I'm at the bit where the Cloudburst has been deployed and I'm in the sewers in the Batmobile. There's one bit where the drones just keep coming and coming and coming. It's like fighting a bullet-sponge boss.

If you're where I think you are, then there's a much tougher battle coming up later. It's a good job that you actually have room to move up there though as it makes the battle a bit easier.
There really are some real **** tank sections later on as well, as well as more stealth stuff! My tips would be to upgrade the weapons as much as you can and as soon as you can. I got as far as the battle I'm talking about without upgrading anything and I found things much easier once I did! The only thing I didn't upgrade was the boost from jumping out the car as I hardly used that anyway.
I've still only got Riddler stuff to go now, so I might start a NG+ soon as you keep all your upgrades and you don't need to redo any of the Riddler stuff that you've already completed, so I can mop a lot of them up then.
Apart from the tank stuff, it's a very good game :)
Actually, Bob, it WAS a bit further on than I remembered. It was the bit in the graveyard where Ivy's tree also attacks the drones - I hope that's the bit you're thinking of as I don't think I can go through something like that again :-). The Arkham Tank was bad/dull enough too, but I beat it. I think I've an inkling who the Knight is going to be, I think it's telegraphed through some Joker "flashbacks" and I'll be really disappointed if it is as it's a character I've never even heard of.
I have to agree, it is a very good game although I'm hoping there's not much left to it now after dispersing the Cloudburst.
That church bit WAS the bit I was thinking of! I managed to beat that without upgrading any of the weapons too, so I had a really tough time of that bit.
There's at least one other big Batmobile section coming up. It's inside the Arkham Knights hideout. I hated that bit too, but at least it gives you sensible checkpoints. It was still a ball ache at times. The last big battle is quite simple though and you should be able to do that one without any issue.
I'm not going to spoil who the Arkham Knight is, but I changed my mind three times before the reveal, then I kicked myself because it is kind of obvious. It's all pretty well done though and you've got a cracking bit of story coming up!
Just make sure you've completed as many side missions as you can before finishing the story as there are different endings depending on how many you've done. You can still get all three on one play through though. I got one, then mopped up the last side quests for the second. The third comes after finishing the Riddled stuff, so that'll take a while.
My guess on the Arkham Knight was spot on :-) it was actually all well done, Bob, and I've just hit another huge twist where I thought it would probably be the end game! There can't be much more left though.
It finally twigged who did the Scarecrow voiceover work - I was determined not to look it up. The brilliant John Noble (Denethor, Walter in Fringe) - that's one hell of a coup as he's one of the finest actors around.
Outside of the PC problems I've thoroughly enjoyed it (apart from the dull drone stuff).
There's not a great deal left after the big reveal (it's a cracking bit of story is that!) Just a couple of small mission sections, then the final part which is both awesome, yet slightly disappointing at the same time (you'll probably know what I mean, but it could just have been me).
I thoroughly enjoyed it too, except the tank stuff, but there's some enjoyment in that too at times (when it's not a pain in the arse!) Have you released Cat Woman yet? There's some good/bad stuff with the Batmobile there too :)
I'm sure I've seen Catwoman at some point but don't recall doing a fat lot with her... I'm at what I presume is the final bit where, sigh, more drones, which I haven't been able to face yet.
On a good note, I've just read that John Noble is going to be in one of my favourite shows - Elementary :-)
I think the last tank bit is outside the police station (I'm guessing that's where you are). It's actually quite simple, even though it looks hard.
Catwoman is in the orphanage. It's got a big green lighthouse thing on top. She's in there. Riddler will taunt you over the big screens from time to time and tell you where to go. There are big underground racecourses or puzzles involving the Batmobile. After each one, you go back to the orphanage to beat a puzzle there. Some of those are good fun and Joker is on hand to offer advice after each one too! It's worth doing it all just for those bits ;)

Oh, and Windows 10 has made quite a difference to the frame rate. Can play it on High settings now.
