Right then. I've done some research. Apparrently, this Ginger Baker individual is some type of musician, who specialises in a variety of popular music called "jazz". He was also a member of a group of like-minded individuals (I believe the phrase is "band"), who called themselves "Cream". I suspect that usspecyfan's "joke" alludes to the fact that once this character left the "band" called Cream, the standard of his music deteriorated. I'm led to believe that this is common amongst contemporary musicians who achieved fame as part of a group, but sunk into mediocrity after strinking out on their own (the "Spice Girls" is an example that was cited).
If only usspeccyfan had made all of this clear in the first place. This has opened up an entirely new world for me.
Divine Brown is that famous ropey prostitute who made the headlines and who made a ton of money as she was the one who (how shall i put this), said hello quite closely to Hugh Grants 'little fella'.

Russ Abbott is one of Britains greatest comics, he inspired Peter Sellers and Spike Milligan and many others.
He created an amazing array of talented characters and even today most modern comedians say he was their inspiration for getting into comedy.
He set a record by winning 12 Comedy Baftas and was celebrated as Britains greatest ever comedian. In Trafalgar Square in London theres a statue of him hes that famous. For 10 straight years his great 'Russ Abbott show' on TV on saturday night in the UK had 30 million viewers all the time. Also a talented musician, he had a number 1 hit with 'what an atmosphere' which was #1 for 7 months beating Bryan Adams record. The recent phone mix remake is number 1 in the charts.
He also helped the career of another great comic, Les Dennis and one of the most beautiful comedians, Bella Emberg who is still huge to this day.
Highly talented comedian who sold out Las Vegas for 700 consecutive nights. He died a few years ago when he was assassinated by a scotsman who took offence to his most famous character 'Hey Jimmy'.

Also well worth mentioning Russ Abbot's lead role in the innovative UK sitcom Married For Life. This was a hugely popular, very funny show. The critics and the British public alike loved it to bits. :lol:
Later, an American adaption was created (Married... With Children) but without Russ it was a terrible flop, totally unfunny and it was soon quietly axed after just a few shows. :cry:
And his partnership with Elvis Costello lead to many years of laughter with the 'Abbot & Costello show'. Elvis went on to be a major singing star. I think his daughter married Michael Jackson.

I saw Les Dennis on the Isle Of Wight, Summer 1990. He was exiting from the pier with a couple of young ladies either side of him (perhaps one of them was Amanda Holden?) - he'd just done a show there (no, I didn't see the show). It's tragic that Les died a couple of years ago, he was almost as young as Dustin Gee was when he snuffed it. :(Here's an obituary - note they've also spelt "Russ Abbott" incorrectly. ;)

If they were a Speccy game, I would suggest that they were ... Arcadia. Excellent for its time but its context was soon superseded.
