It didn't mean anything really, other than a running joke since your last award, I'd also had a few beers. But it can be an incentive to post some properly 'deutschified' saucers like pumpernickel pizza with sauerkraut on it :-p

Also - have to say I'm not sure I like to sound of fish sticks cooked to a nice optimal bacteria temperature on a radiator!

He must have been following Morkin's instructions:

"Warm gently on a radiator for two to three days..."

I got a sandwich toaster at a GoodWill so I should be having some ?nice?saucers soon.

No cheese now though because I'm vegan so that will limit what I can put in it. No more cheesy peas!!

BTW: is this the only thread left that is reminiscent of the good old days of the mid 00's?

  • Heh you'd be good at naming constellations.
  • You can get fake cheese for vegans it's made out of oil, chalk, natural orange or yellow colour, and some kind of weird protein that perhaps cannot be heard by the Knights who say Ni?

My ma got some years and years ago, it was rank, and from what I've seen at least 15 years of fake cheese making has not improved it :))

I don't really like cheese anyway, so only eat it on sandwiches and pizza, sometimes chilli...

Today, 6th of january, following the tradition, we've got the christmas gifts and ate roscón de reyes, one of my fave desserts along with the *cough* *cough* porridge by any other name! ;)

No cheese is better than fake cheese. Fake cream cheese can be done quite well, but any hard cheese substitute is effin orible.

Drool. I'll add that to the Spanish sweets I want to try, after churros.

Wow, amazing, that's enough to break me back in to dairy. Looks so tasty. Are you sure it's not too good for this thread, after some of the insipid delights that have been posted?

  • I buy a Canadian Mature Cheddar from Morrisons, it's probably really fattening but i can't resist it.
It's better (and cheaper) than that Cathedral stuff.
    The trouble with tribbles is.......
  • I prefer grated cheese but it takes a bit of effort. Luckily you can now buy it pre-grated in small packs.
  • The man or woman that buys pre-grated cheese can consider him or herself a scoundrel.
  • You know you're getting lazy if grating cheese becomes 'a bit of effort' ;)

It's a slippery slope towards the buying of microwavable toasted cheese sandwiches :))

Did you find the king figurine or the bean having to pay the pastry?
Was it filled with angel hair?
  • Shrooms!!! ;)

Umm... the visible half was filled with cream. Funnily, angel hair seems to be some kind of pasta, and spaghetti squash jam is the sweet. Crazy brits... :-D

Even i wouldn't buy them! I have a sandwich toaster, in fact i might post a saucer pic of them sometime.

The bean and I had to pay it.

I always have to pay the roscón, actually! :-)

It was filled with cream (nata). My fave choice. This year I've found new drooling varieties like the one covered with chocolate and filled with cream & wine, apart from the usual roscón filled with truffle, angel hair and of course the classic one with no filling, the purists' choice!

Only 365 days to eat it again!

Is Angel Hair that nasty chewy green sugar stuff? I think it was called Angelica back in England? Pretty big in the 80's cake shops used to drown their stuff in it.

  • 800 lines zx1 - this is not a saucer!
  • No he means he ate them in rolls just like that, cast iron stomachs these sweaties have you know. It's from eating all the wild haggis's they catch up in the highlands ;)
    Every night is curry night!
  • Obviously that was when they were cooking, they were really filling, i didn't eat anything else till the end of the day.

  • 'Squaring the circle' pizza:

Fresh dough from my local Lidl, tomato sauce, cheese, canned mushrooms, ham and oregano. Delicious!

  • I was with you until you mentioned mushrooms.
    I hate 'em :(
    The trouble with tribbles is.......
  • That pizza looks really nice (and huge!).

    I'm pro-mushroom :)
