Dictator

Hi
Trying to get a copy of Dictator to work in Windows 8.1 or 7 . Tried to download .tap and fuse but nothing works. Their used to be a remake by Hamarcak in English. Cannot find it again. Heard someone was also going to do a remake Python - that would be great Appreciate any assistance.

    Whilst you're looking for an emulator that works for you (I'm not sure why Fuse won't), here's an online version. The remake you're looking for appears to be for 95/98/NT and you'll have a fun time getting that to run in Win 8.

    Try ZXSpin for emulation as an alternative - those older, BASIC, games really benefit from running around four to six times faster!

    I am author of that remake and it was quite a time. Had hard time to find it on HDD,

    Here i made dosboxed last dictator ( I thnink v1.4) ready to run. Just run start.bat

    If you are brave/interested enough I found source code v1.2, latest one is lost forever now. But nothing major changed really as far I remember.

    You will need Qbasic (interpreter only) or QuickBasic 4.5 or 7.1 (can compile into standalone exe, I think I used 4.5) to run/compile it.

    If you're interested in games where you run a banana republic try the Tropico series, you can buy them on Steam, or GOG if you want to try the older ones.
