I fitted them both in the zx spectrum when I get some time this week I will up load a picture so you can see
cool ,
I just read Zetr0's guide for putting taps onto the HDD using Stowsaw. Looks fairly straight forward, so not having tap loading is not the end of the world
Again this I suspect is more software than hardware. But the one fault is that the following games crash when playing within 1 minute
1. AtikAtak
2. Alien 8
3. Knights Lore
Now these files work perfectly fine on the 8bit IDE adaptor via various media either as snapshots or as disk based files - however no matter what I do they consistently crash when using the ZXMMC, no matter if its a snapshot or regular files. I suspect that a vector is not set correctly OR is being used by the MMC adaptor that interferes with the operation of the above games.
From my investigations it leads me to believe that this could be a Printer Port Bug when using the ZXMMC
I can confirm these particular games are working perfectly fine on my version of the ZXMMC. I've made the x9536xl version (no joystick/rs232) following the schematics from Alessandro.
A couple of weeks ago I got the boards from china. I've assembled a few and Im quite very happy with it. I love I can just open the memory card with Stowsaw without having to make an image and add/delete files directly on the card. Also the form factor is very neat and compact.
Fascinating my friend, I have 10 PCB's here, two are the XC9572xl and these are the two I have been testing (yes with the Joy/RS232 support) - perhaps it is that which in conflict with these games.

where did you fit the cf reader and card internally? do you have a picture?
