Recreated Sinclair ZXS

Hi to all

I've recently came across this Speccy-like keyboard all-in-one app-oriented thingy...

Does anyone know how good it is and how you used it to the fullest? Can we use it on a PC without the App?

best regards
Alban

  • I'm sure someone made a bluetooth mod for a 48k Speccy that does the same thing but will cost a lot less and work with anything that has bluetooth? But I only know about it because I think Dave Jones of the EEVBlog said in a mailbag someone had sent him one.
  • Its essentially just a bluetooth keyboard, so it will connect to any PC with a suitable Bluetooth dongle.

In QWERTY mode it generates a standard keypress event for every keypress and will function with as a standard PC keyboard; although it isn't much use for games that require you to hold down direction keys.

In "Game Mode" it generates two separate scancodes for each key, one for press and one for release, so you'd need an custom input handler or a modified emulator - I'm not aware of any Windows emulators that support this at present.

  • meh... pretty crappy... :( too bad, it's really well made and gives the feel, but it is pretty useless besides it I guess then
