Didn't RETRO have some sort of CRASH-themed thingy? Do you think they got a licence for that?
They used lots of CRASH artwork, and I think they had a special with a foreword by Roger Kean (which I haven't seen). I assume they licenced the artwork directly from Oli.
Nice to get a little plug for CRASH Online into the ZZAP supplement anyway.

Did you see inside the back cover coming out next Spring a compilation book of Olli Freys covers ?
With or without text?
Know if enlarged repoductions are available?
This could be seriously good...
"... few will have ever seen the originals as beautifully reproduced as this, and free of the commercial sales lines and slogans that cluttered them as magazine covers."
The example pages shown have, eg, the full text-free cover of CRASH 1 on one page, with discussion on the facing page.
I just bought this month's Retrogamer but it didn't come with Zzap. There is an option to order the supplement from their website so I might do that out of curiosity.
One thing I was wondering was, in the article about the BBC version of Cookie, they mention a site that has the game for download. Surely, since it's an Ultimate game, distribution would be denied, or does that only apply to Spectrum games.
Maybe there's a legal loophole they are exploiting; as the game was previously unknown to Ultimate/Rare, normal rules don't apply.
For all those who didn't get the free ZZAP! supplement - I would suggest contacting the mail order department at Live Publishing - Their contact details are in a 'sticky' thread at their forums (under the magazine feedback section).

U only get the zzap supplement if u buy it from Smiths ( they have a special promotion goin apparently ) or via subscription.
Some people haven't receieved theirs from WH Smith too.
You can order it from Retrogamer's web site www.livepublishing.co.uk/retro . There are only a limited supply of them so you should place your order quickly. I just ordered mine.
Well I'm curious. It will be interesting to see what life was like on the other side of the fence. Plus I might make some money by selling it later on. :)

Subtle hint there.
Sorry teacher, we shall not have any childish humour on any forum apart from chit-chat

Looks to be very good, look forward to ordering that when its out. 192 pages, 200 illustrations.
Beside the subjects themselves, there's sometimes hardly any difference between the chit chat forum and the other ones.

Mibrohobby or Micromania would be nice. I doubt that would ever happen though.
Now available for download:
The DEF Tribute to Zzap!64 (at last)
over here, at my place!
Enjoy! :D
Ta!
(all feedback welcome)
They were really good magazines, but as you said, we will never see a brand new number of any of the 2 mags.
Brittish people are very lucky to see new magazines although not very often (much better than never)
Bye
