Must admit that Blair's impressed me in the past 48 hours. Providing he doesn't overreact like Bush did after 9/11 (which I doubt he will), he might actually go out on a high note.
Only a bunch of sissies, cowards, mentally retarded wankers can have the gall to kill innocent people.
I just can't understand on what basis anyone can justify such mindless violence! I hope every one of the f**kwits are found and tried. And, hopefully, publicly executed.
I hope they get the secret service just to execute them. If not if theyre tried for weeks on end and even if found guilty then they'll try and get some stupid EU Law to find them innocent etc.
Look at the crazy one handed cleric in London (forgot his name), just extradite him to the US who want him, its taking ages and ages and hes still here fighting the courts.
People like him shouldnt have any rights, forget the paperwork, just send him out. Sometimes in the UK we're just too much of a soft touch and do everything by the book too much.
Thankfully the days of the IRA are (or at least seem to be) behind us. But the one thing to say for Irish terrorism was at least they gave you a warning.
These heartless evil bastards didn't even do that. New York, Madrid and now London. It sickens me that these people feel that they can do this to innocent people because they feel it betters their cause. These aren't politicians or military but ordinary people going in to work on a Thursday morning.
However I have to congratulate the people of London for being so resilient. The images on the TV yesterday made it very very clear that the people of London responded to this in a very calm way. I take my hat off to every single one of you.
I was in London a few weeks ago and drove past King's Cross station and along the North Circular to get to the M4 back to Wales. From what I understand, that's where some of the bombs went off.
Oh and Nick, I totally agree. I was very impressed with Tony Blair yesterday. In one of the speeches he gave yesterday you could tell he was upset - his voice was shaking like someone who'd been told he'd lost someone very close to him. That, along with what he was saying, impressed me.

Totally agree with you, Blair was very impressive. A twat like George Galloway saying about withdrawing troops from Iraq is exactly 100% what these nutters want, should never give in to terrorism.
Just like many brave people in London are going about their way today we should all do the same , none of this 'cancel the Olympics', 'cancel something else' the minute terrorists try to stop our way of life.
Bombs like this aim to do two things, kill people and spread fear and paranoia. Its already working with some people looking at their views here.
I have to agree with others comments on Blairs response. He has behaved in exactly the way a leader should. You could tell he was as mad as hell when he gave that first speech.
I have to congratulate the emergency services for their response also. And lets not forget the courage of Londoners today. Many of them were being interviewed on TV this morning at the train stations and bus stops and they were all adamnant that it would not affect their normal lives. Good for them and up yours Al Qaeeda!

Don't worry, that people don't like to get caught alive, so they'll probably end made mincemeat with their own explosives when the police knocks at their door, just like in Madrid.
My thoughts go out to all those who've lost family and friends and to anyone injured.
If it was suicide bomers, then they're probably young people who were talked into it by ultra-religous fu***rs who've twisted their paricular faith to justify their methods and who don't have the balls to do it themselves.
This is no time for political correctness either, find em and hang em.
I just hope old tony don't see this as a means of justifying ID cards cos it won't solve this problem.
Please do not elevate the IRA above these people by attaching some sort of chivalristic slant to their actions. Warnings were not always given, regardless the fact remains they have killed and maimed 1000's during the last 30 or so years, women and children included.
I was in the UK on wednesday and thursday on business(IT crap) and I was soooooo ill. Something fluey or whatever - but with a super high, making me delerious fever. Anyway, sitting on the tarmac at Luton airport(thursday afternoon) some official mo fo's got on the plane and announced that there was a descrepency between boarding cards and the amount of people on the plane - and then half an hour later we took off anyway with seemingly no resolution to the numbers v's boarding cards thing - pretty scary considering. Any way nothing happened but you could smell the tension.

And you live in Nottingham...hmmmm GUN CAPITAL OF THE UK and the only place to have armed police. I'm glad you can find the funny side of all this, as I'm fucked if I can.
Well, I was born & bred in Walsall & saw a lot more trouble in Walsall. Including a mate that was chased through the streets & stabbed numerous times until he was dead because he wouldn't hand over his coat.
The closest I have ever come to being shot in Nottingham was by a policeman. Goes to show doesn't it?
As for finding a funny side - are we all supposed to be sitting at home worrying about what's going to happen next? Its always been the way with the British. We laugh about it and move on. Its very sad that so many people had to die for no reason, but hey the next step might be a nuke for all we know.

Apologies, I didn?t know you had lived in Walsall...nobody should have to endure that in their early years. ;)
It just gets a bit tiresome, people slagging off Wolverhampton. It's got to a point where I get embarrassed saying Wolverhampton when somebody asks me where I'm from, as I then get daft remarks about 'The Black Country' Noddy Holder and people doing a cringe worthy Black Country accent (which 9 times out of 10 is a Brummie accent).
Nottingham does have Rock City though, which is better than any club in Wolverhampron :)

I still get crap accents in my direction even though Walsall isn't in the black country, and nowhere near Dudley which most piss takers accents sound like.
I can't even think of any clubs in Wolverhampton! I know I used to get pissed there regularly, but I would already be pissed by the time I got on the bus.
Rock city is indeed a top club. Can't beat love shack on a Friday. The live bands are great too. Last one I went to was the Wonderstuff earlier on this year.
If you think a childhood in Walsall is bad, then pity my Son. He's being brought up in Wednesbury. And he sounds it too.
>Thankfully the days of the IRA are (or at least seem to be) behind us. But the one thing to say for Irish terrorism was at least they gave you a warning.
Like they gave a warning when they placed a bomb in a bin outside McDonalds on the Saturday before Motherdays, in the middle of Warrington town centre in 1993, then detonated it at midday, killing two young children, and then claiming it was the "hand of god"? They gave no warning then, nor did they many, many times before or since.
No-one was ever convicted over that bombing, but then we knew that no-one would be. The Northern Island situation is political, and the only reason the terrorists are laying low is that it suits them to do so. See, the IRA are funded largely by America, as the "Irish American" population largely swallow the propoganda that "Noraid" (the IRA's legal representatives in America) put out. And since the USA is currently on a crusade against all terrorist groups and tyrants, it suits the IRA to keep their heads down and pretend to be neo-pacifists.
Ever wondered why the War on Terrorism didn't actually apply to the IRA? The given reason is that the IRA are not terrorists, they are Freedom fighters, and they are willing to negotiate. But Freedom Fighters only attack military targets, never civilian, which the IRA were always willing to do (and frequently did), so they are terrorists, whatever they might claim. And as for them being willing to negotiate, they will only do this for as long as it suits them - we let most of their murderers walk free from prison, and grant them all sorts of unreasonable concessions, but they won't give up their weapons, or give us the names of the people who planted the Warrington bombs, for example.
And where is the justice in releasing terrorists, even if it does ensure that no more attacks take place from that particular group (and it won't, no intelligent person believes the Northern Island situation will stay dormant)? Many murders are one-time acts, commited by people who would never again do such a thing, so if you release terrorists then by the same logic, you may as well release other, non-terrorist, murderers.
Terrorists are terrorsts, pure and simple. There are many things I hate about this country, but I'd never kill civilians (or military personal, for that matter) to draw attention to my views, or to bring about change.
And how about our American friends financing the IRA? If we financed the group who masterminded the Twin Towers destruction then there'd be a massive outcry, but our spineless politicans won't say anything against the Americans. Makes you sick, doesn't it?
Ok sorry. I never meant to elevate the IRA into any form of heroism in their activities. I truly always believed that the IRA as well as other Irish terrorists gave warnings before their attacks. If they didn't then I apologise and I stand corrected. (A simple "no they didn't" might have sufficed though.)
The IRA, like any terrorist organisation around the world, are not heroes. The attacking of any civilians in the name of religion or politics is never a good thing. The IRA are no better or worse than Al-Qaeda. They're all evil.
