  • Dynamite Dan II has issues, that's enough to put me off, plus I just don't like it as much as the first.

I went to have a quick play of it just now for a quick reminder, and I don't even have it in my Speccy games folder, I guess that shows just how great it is :))

  • I never played Dynamite Dan or the sequel BITD and playing them more recently I can't really get into either. They look lovely but there seems to be baddies crammed in every which way. If I want to play a stupidly difficult platformer I go for Technician Ted every time (which I played a lot BITD).

Oh, and I've been checking out the Nostalgia Nerd channel. Nice vids on there :)

  • I should've put Lazy Jones, Rex, Herberts Dummy Run, and Space Harrier 2 on my list, oh well I knew I'd have missed some or changed my mind soon anyway.

  • yeah, in hindsight i missed a few too

I'd have to give mention to Highway Encounter.
  • I must also add Fighter Pilot to my list. I don't really play it these days but I did back in the day, it was (in my opinion) the best flight sim around at the time. Quite groundbreaking and I played it for hours. The triumph at being able to land in fog!
  • I need to add Strangeloop to my list. Quirky, humorous, great atmosphere and a bit creepy. Some good features like being able to Stravinsky choose your on-screen start point when you lose a life. I really like the 'fizzy' sound effects when you shoot the dwarf or they hit your spacesuit. Avoid the Void!

  • Ha my phone auto-corrected strategically to Stravinsky! I'm leaving that for posterity :)

  • Gah, it also did the same with dwarf for swarf! It sounds like a really weird game now. It is a really weird game.

  • Anyone a fan of CodeName MAT? Another game I loved.

I liked the sequel, not sure I've played the original.

I think the first game was better (from memory). It was also quite groundbreaking when it was released. Being able to blow uip planets in our solar system was pretty cool!
