Every time I read that the oldest person in the world has died, I have to do a quick check to see it isn't ME..........
  • Rock n' Roll cop (Sheng Gang yi hao tong ji fan), it's not a Kung Fu movie or one of those weirdy flying round on wires type thing s like Zu.

It's just a police action drama, but it's really, really, good, and very violent in places.

The fella who plays the cop is the same guy who plays the serial killer in Bun Man, you could add that to the list as well. That film almost gives Japan's Extreme Asia DVD's a run for it's money. There's a scene where he kills a woman by ramming a fistful of chopsticks up her minge.

But the truly horrible scene is the flashback to how he acquired the restaurant he runs, where he kills the owner, his wife, and all his kids in graphic detail. I think this was a one of those "Based on real life events" type affairs as well, which makes it all the more f**ked up.

  • OMG...I might give that one a miss..then again. Oh, the 'Chinese Torture Chamber Story' series is quite horrific but actually has a brilliant story line. That movie has 'death by a thousand cuts' and a red hot phallus and lots of other very nasty depictions...I bit to much for me.

Jonathan Ross started it for me when he showed some of these movies in the early 90s. I like the comedy horrors..'Mr Vampire' series is side splitting funny. The people falling in love with beautiful ghosts genre is also super. Zu Warriors..yeah..amazing movie. That's the first one with the wire flying I think.

  • Seen some random martial arts as well as the obvious Jackie Chan & Bruce Lee movies.
Would The Legend of the 7 golden vampires qualify? That was a co-production between The Shaw Brothers and Hammer in 1974 but was filmed in Hong Kong, it's a mix between martial arts and horror and is pretty good, if a little cheesy, the guy playing Dracula is hilariously bad.

  • Oh Yeah...Anything involving Run Run Shaw would count. I have seen that one, very enjoyable..I'll add it to my list with a caveat.

Oh sorry you said mines, what do you find in them, gold ?
Peacocks have a nasty habit of staking claim to anything that could yeald riches.

Pyracanth is a killer, I once had to fasten a large bush back to a wall, I could only do it be leaning on it with my back, even a thick bus mans jacket was not enough to prevent a mass accupunture session to my body. there is sharp, then there is sharp, this is SHARP. I used to be a gardener as well as all of my other occupations, you don't live as long as I have, without having many strings to your bow. Damned near punctured my space suit as well !
