  • That's what I call..overrated. Nah, just kidding..it was pretty cool in it's day. Amazing how famous he became after he blew his brains out.
I stole it off a space ship.
  • That song brings back a lot of happy memories for me, 1991 was a good year.
I bought the single on 7" just after it came out.

Yeah, they were virtually unknown before that! :))
  • Yeah, you're right. I forgot.

Not all pop stars that wind up dead, did it themselves, it is still a classic and favourite tune of many people, not just the ones that were there at the time, the words speak wisdom !

  • Great music, but even better...

  • Now I feel old. I was still (just) a teenager when it came out.

There's a Nirvana/Rick Astley mashup from a few years ago that you think would be awful. It's not...

  • meh
    So far, so meh :)
  • I'm sure a 50's/60's singer (forget his name) did a cover of Teen Spirit in a jazz style. Not heard it though.

massive tune, and nevermind is/was brilliant. almost can't listen to it these days though. it's incredibly angsty and emo in a way I don't really connect with any more, but it's still a great album

  • It's a good song and the way they did it on Top Of The Pops was so funny, but these days my favourite Nevermind track is Lithium.

A great sing from a great album. The first half of the 90s comes to my mind whenever I listen to it. Great times.

Blimey. I remember taping Nevermind off my friend along with Blood Sugar Sex Magik, and then buying both in early '92 after I got a CD player for Christmas. Played them both to death, not so much now. SLTS is probably the track on the album I like the least, but that's probably down to overexposure.

As a veteran of the mashup scene I never really liked that, the key clash spoils it (I told the producer DJ Morgoth that at the time and he agreed with me!) I prefer my Rick Astley mashup with The Pixies ;)

  • Lol, good one :)

I'm sure that's the kind of edgy direction rick wanted to go in, but SAW forced him to be a bland one hit wonder.

think I remember a destinys child/teen spirit mashup which was probably crap but seemed radical at the time
  • Paul Anka - that was the guy's name i had forgot!
My favourite track on Nevermind was Territorial Pissings, probably because it was so angry. Also liked Drain You and Lounge Act.

  • I think Nevermind was probably one of the last great albums from an artist quite unknown to me at the time which I actually bought,

  • Nevermind is still pretty great, but I'll be honest I rarely listen to any of it these days. I think I prefer Bleach or In Utero tbh.
    Every night is curry night!
  • I loved this track back in the day. I remember seeing them on The Word for the first time and thinking 'oooh I do like this one'. I do think that if Nirvana had carried on they'd have just got worse. I think some of their later stuff was utter tripe compared to Bleach and Nevermind. I think Family Guy pretty much summed it up:

    Sausages is more important

I don't believe he did it himself, he was found with a shotgun, yet only had a single bullet wound from a gun, he had so much Cocane in his system that the pathologist said he would have been incapable of even pulling the trigger, he was allegedly just about to divorce Courtney Love. Eldon Hoke claimed in an interview that he refused $50,000 to kill Curt, was killed two days after the interview by a freak accident which to happened to see him underneath the wheels of a train in California, he had said he could provide proof of not only the offer, but also of the person who shot Curt.

apart from In Utero I cant think of any new material that they actually released after Nevermind? there was Incesticide which was all pre-nevermind stuff, and MTV Unplugged which had no new songs either...

Im not the biggest fan of in utero but it had some really good stuff on there imo

  • Never got round to listening to In Utero, i still haven't........
