Sealed Spectrum software for collectors

Hello,
recently in two facebook groups I have been asked if I have some more programs that are still sealed. However, we have once bought a lot of software directly from the software houses such as Domark, Codemasters, Ocean/Hit Squad, Alternative Software and so on. But most of them was never sealed, so although most of our stock is not sealed, it is still new.

However, there are collectors who want sealed games, so I checked it and found some and I want also offer it to the people here and not only on Facebook. So here are the pictures:

I'm interested in the Flight Simulation but 18 Euros shipping charge seems a bit on the steep side.

So why you want choose the DHL packing which is fast and expensive instead of the normal post way for just 3,99 Euro? I know the postal service is slow, but games are 30 years old and don´t mind if they are in the post a week longer.

I was trying to order in German and stopped when I saw the postal costs. I didn't realize that I could change the carrier (or the language for that matter) before confirming my order.

Anyway, all sorted now and I've placed my order.

I'm unable to buy anything on your web site, because when I choose shipping to USA, i'm always presented with an error:

Code 326: Please select a state.

But I'm unable to select a state because there is not state field in the form (first step when I enter my 'invoice address').

Can you please look into this for me? I want to order a couple of tapes.

Sorry for writing back that late, I didn´t check this thread for some days. There is really a bug in the shop which should be repaired soon (I already wrote to the company who set up the shop for us). However, the bug is just in the English language, so if you don´t mind and use for the checkout the German language, there is no problem (exept the language maybe, but I think it is not so difficult, as least not for me).

The bug seems just to be for sending to USA. UK, French, Spain or any other people can use the shop without problems. We never had many customers from USA, so we didn´t come across that error sooner. But maybe some people were already disappointed and never visited our shop again, so thanks to "mityay" to letting us know the problem.

You and any other can still add to your order the "4 Soccer Simulator" for free. Just use the code "4SOCCER" during the checkout (shopping basket).

Shop is working now also for US-customers. Choose your state in die field "Region" (will care that it will be renamed to "state").

I've always wondered how much stuff is sneakily resealed to appease collectors, or as you say, stuff that was never sealed in the first place.

I doubt anybody do this. At all, even if I double the price for a sealed one, the profit raises maybe from 1 to 2 or 3 Euro. Still not worth the work to seal it.

I just received the games that I bought from Sintech shop. It was a very good and professional experience. The prices were amazing too. They shipped quickly and packed everything very well. They even threw in some freebies. I'm a very happy camper :) Thank you Thomas and Sintech shop :-bd

Posting here because I have just had totally the opposite experience to mityay and I'm hoping Speccyman will pick up on this and sort out his systems.

Back in October I ordered three ZX81 tapes and paid via paypal. Sintech refunded me some of my money because they didn't have two of them. Irritating but I'll live with it and the third tape arrived.

I've just had an email address to Mr/Mrs KrazyKattapilla asking for XYZ money being precisely the difference between what I paid and what they refunded me....

Frankly, if they are going to send out bogus requests for cash then the least they can do is try and get my gender right :)

So, my experience is that they sell things they don't have in stock and can't get; their record keeping is poor; their customer service is terrible; and they don't keep proper accounts.

I'll happily update this thread if they come back to me with a sensible resolution - I've sent them a grotty email telling them not to darken my doorstep again unless it is with a grovelling apology and something to make it worth my while dealing with them

I'm sorry to hear you are having problem with your order. They also didn't have one tape that I ordered, but I was able to substitute it for another one that I wanted. Didn't think it was a big deal. I think they just a couple of guys selling stuff, so I don't expect the same service as from Amazon. You should probably contact Thomas directly by email. Pm me if you don't have his email address. He handled my order by email and everything went smoothly.

I can't understand why people would pay more for a tape that hasn't been, and can't be, tested anyway. but then if they're never going to take them out of the wrapper and play them anyway I don't suppose it matters if they've bought a shelf full of blank tapes.

There was that guy on Ebay a few years ago doing exactly that - selling Amstrad tapes sealed as new in their boxes - but when opened up, the inlay was blank on one side (printed on glossy photo paper) and not just a blank tape, but no tape reels in there either.

He'd apparently sold quite a lot of "tapes" to collectors who never removed the plastic seals.

if I understand well, you have ordered three games, we had only one of them, you got refunded and sent out one game. This is usually not the way we do it. Usually we ask if you want choose another game. However, it is of course not good to offer games which we actually don´t have, but you see our stock is more than 20 years old and in this 20 years many things happened and it might be, that the one or other tape is lost. However, just getting one out of three is a bad luck, but here I offered some games with photo, so I clearly had them (now most of them are gone) . It makes me sad seeing my thread is now a discussion about bad sellers. We are in business now for 23 years, we have done a lot for the Spectrum. We do nothing without making profit of course, but on the other side we do a job that obviously not many others want to do, maybe because it is not that profit-making as some might expect. Spectrum is my first computer and it is more than only a business for me to continue also in this part of the retro-market, although the money I need for living I earn with other things.

Although the customer is right to have his expectations, sometimes people forget that we are humans working here and yes, we make mistakes. Sorry.
