I remember the first emulators I came across, on a PD disk. Z80 V1.45 (shareware), JPP and SpecEm (named irish.zip). All ran quite nicely on a 25 MHz CPU. Software like this made me realise what was possible on a PC and led me to write my own.
The emulator is so old it even comes with an ANSI pic. Shows how much times have changed.
