A standarized disk interface... If only Interface 1 had been the disciple or plus d... Hated to spend so many hours just to properly convert software to plus d... (On the other hand, luckily, so many software had a disciple/plus d version!)
No point comparing it to some other machines as they were at a different price point.
What did I dislike? Spilling a can of coke onto the keyboard and it failing a few days later when the coke had eaten the copper tracks off the membrane. But that's hardly the spectrum's fault.
The 7805 used to go wrong but it was easy to replace.
My little cousin spilled coke on mine it still worked it just had a funny odor when it heated up ever since despite my best attempts to clean it :)
Having looked at a few dis assemblies, it seems the code for some kind of 'FREE' statement is nearly all present too. A shame in a way this did not see light of day. Not a big omission by any means I know but still... :)
Nothing except the edge connector oh and no power switch but I put one on the power cord myself, no biggie.
Liked the rubber keyboard, loved the keyword entry. Never had a problem with the power socket or tape loading it was a very rare instance to get r tape loading error. Never had a problem with overheating either. Maybe I was just lucky.
