reminds me of that 'no mans land' game (or whatever it was called) that was released for the PS4 and others a few months back that was eventually just a lot of hot air.
It looks great, but it would just bore me to tears after a few hours of exploring, collecting, grinding gears and producing stuff.

Yeah, if you don't like the minecraft type of game then this will not convert you. I confess to finding mining in minecraft quite meditative for some reason so to me this sort of game can keep me entertained pretty well. It just struck me though that the colour scheme and the focus on the backpack just brought Backpacker's Guide To The Universe to mind, the main difference being that it's not about collecting specimens, but the whole exploration thing seemed to be the main draw of Backpacker's anyway, and maybe for me particularly it's a very nostalgic game so Astroneer stood out.
