Updating a WoS Entry...

Hi all, ltns...

As many of you know, my previous ID on here was TechnicianSi; under that ID I uploaded a couple of JSW clones, one of which was featured on Paul Jenkinsons Spectrum Show recently. And it's buggered.
I've gone through and finally fixed all the bugs in it (fingers crossed!) and wondered if there was a way to upload the final version to the archive under a new ID?

Cheers, hope everybody is well.

Si

  • It would be better to just replace the file but keep the same ID. There's no reason to maintain the bugged version available.

The WOS archive is still not accepting updates. If you send me the file, I will upload it to my public Dropbox account, together with all other files waiting for the new WoS archive. This way, it will be publicly available until WoS starts accepting WoS updates again. I just sent you a PM with my contact details.

  • Oh I dunno us JSW types like to have the buggy versions from yesteryear if they were available, I have folders full of unfinished and knackered versions of JSW that people have updated, or changed over the years.

  • That's great. I've checked my PM's, i'll send you an email with the attached fixed version as soon as i've double checked it. The WoS Entry has 3 versions; original Z80 and TZX's, along with a 'bug-fixed' one. I guess once you're able, remove those three and keep the fixed one.

Is weird, I checked out the Spectrum Show, watched the JSW section and the chap who does it mentioned he kept dying in "Why Won't You Die", how it was a bit of a mystery, so I grabbed a copy, fired up JSWED and found it was a bloody bug lol, then went through the screens and found 2 more; all game-breaking fs... Never would have known if i'd not watched that. Pretty stoked my mod was featured though. Might do a sequel in the new year....

    That requires programming talent.
