I have been banned from a forum...
..... after 0 posts and less than one day!
OK Wossers, explain this. Yesterday I was looking for information about a particular Xbox Arcade Stick I have that seems to have a peculiar fault. So I found a forum post from last year about the exact problem I was having. Unfortunately the thread did not provide an answer, so I decided to join the forum and post a reply to ask the original poster if he had found a solution.
So, I joined CoinOpsproject.freeforums.org using my iPhone. I activated my membership using the email etc. and then proceeded to post a reply on the thread in question. When the thread refreshed, my reply was not there. Also the web page kept freezing on my iPhone browser so I kept closing the tabs and reopening the original link to the thread that I found on Google. Still my reply was not there, so I decided to leave it for a few hours until I was at home.
Later in the evening (still on my iPhone) I tapped on the link to the thread and got a message telling me I had been "permanently banned from this board" and "a ban has been issued on your IP address". I clicked the link to contact the administrator to ask why, but I doubt I'll get a reply.
Does anyone know why this happened? Did my refreshing trigger some sort of anti-bot auto banning system? I only wanted to ask a polite question!
I'm also worried I could be banned from WOS a any moment!

The person who banned you is probably about 19 years old, and spends his time off that forum looking at weeb porn on 4chan :))
:-?
As a proud XBox owner I would take issue over that, except that it's true and you're probably harder than me, so I'll pretend I didn't read that!
I don't use CoinOps, or any other 'put as many systems under one main menu' collection, as they take us so much hard drive and include so many systems that I don't want to emulate (despite it's name, CoinOps also includes games for the NES, Sega Master System, Lynx, etc), and I've never been on their forums.
But even so, on other XBox forums, I have seen flame-filled posts by people who work on CoinOps or other 'mega' collections. It really is bitter and elitist, the way they argue and accuse one-another of various things like plagiarism, and inciting trouble. Most of the XBox fans are polite and helpful, but like in most areas, it's the few percent of people who cause 99% of the trouble.
Or in "better" cases they don't ban you but immediately close your topic because somebody asked about it 5 years before (and didn't get any definite answer by the way) or the question is "too broad" or not clear (just like you couldn't explain it more) or any other reason.
And I have seen forums where you really need to have a rhino skin to ask a beginner question because you'll get instantly mocked or told to use Google or told to go to some expert because you are too lame to cope with it.
So yes, such stuff happens. Don't worry about it, you didn't do anything wrong/
I find myself banned just for asking what the hell is going on...
Polo 'Da Bouncer' Mint
The most asked without a clear answer :))
ewgf, I also do not use CoinOps. I prefer to use MAMEoXtras and many other standalone emulators on the beloved black slab. I am already a member of the emuxtras forum. They do seem like a decent bunch, so I may try starting my own thread there.
Ban him, ban him! Heretic. There are NO other forums. Don't listen to them.

stick to where you can be bothered to post.. thankfully a lot of places aren't run like dictatorships where propaganda / lies aren't rife. the sorta places where everyone is branded a troll by moderators who don't agree with their view..lol
when you have actual proof of it, different matter.. and no I'm not referring to here.. (just to be very clear) ..
I do class losers bigging up joystick adapters I make, then discrediting them after they found out I make em, as trolling ;-)
ya really couldn't make it up..
I would like WOS back the way it was, sooner than later (with a resource without broken links though).. sooner the better.. thats why I'm not so bothered to visit now. that and a few characters, who seem to think they can say whatever they want.. odd how they stated hitting the delete key rather quickly after various warnings of legal action...
oh well 2017 is going to be an interesting year no doubt...
Quite right - bereavements, diet, cooking and medical advice, music, gaming - WoS members are happy to advise on everything. A one stop shop for life.
With that in mind, it's amazing there haven't been more divorces, deaths or diabetics lol
I found out I had it last year, I doubt I'm the only one here who has.. and well metformin/other stuff is hardly "lol" material.
wouldn't mind, if my diet consisted of the chip shop every night or I sat behind a desk all day, but neither was the case.
(sorry, couldn't resist)
I think it can be hereditary can't it? Or a combination of that & diet etc.
