Nice game, if rather short. There are however a few bugs and design drawbacks i've noticed. Dunno if the author is reading this and is willing to fix anything now, but anyway:
- in the end the game tells to press space but expects the 'z' key pressed instead;
- attributes aren't cleared after item was picked up;
- (maybe related to the above) it's possible to pick up the (now invisible) extra life in the clouds (and maybe the other one, didn't check that) repeatedly (and even worse, when falling from the above you get several extra lives in one go) so the counter becomes two-digits and overlaps the framing to the right;
- an extra key for the inventory when it could be used only on the special pads anyway, so why not just down on the joystick and no need to reach out the keyboard?
Looks very nice, the game not the twerking vid, will have a bash later on.
Hey if this is the guys first AGD game as well let's hope he keeps at it, looks like it was made by somebody who's been at it for a while. 1 month to finish it as well, quite impressive.
Abelenki was hinting at it that the details you hinted at should be posted here in your thread, instead of being redirected somewhere else :-)
I kind of agree with abelenki. Pad out the OP with the relevant info, and keep the link near the bottom.
That way, if the original website goes belly up sometime in the future, then this thread will at least contain some/much of the info needed.
Not a gripe, not a critique, just a friendly reminder :)>-
Ah I see.. look I don't know if this George is a foul mouth but at least he moves his bun to get things done and have some fun at the same time.
Yes, George swears a lot but he's a productive fellow. And he doesn't make things more complicated than they need to be. Exchange an email or two with him and you'll get your game published. Yes, he gets things done.
Actually there is a high chance that some of my games will be published by him too :) Just watch his website.
Congratulations to the author for his first AGD title, I hope there is more to come.
The game shows a good deal of effort put in it, but I think there could be some space for improvement:
- a death animation or explosion effect could be added whenever the character dies;
- since the game is supposed to run on 128K Spectrums, some background music could be added;
- why are you able to see the objects menu only when the main character stands on the cyan pads? It would be much better to be able to access the menu and use objects in every portion of the game.
Here is also a compressed/turbo version made by me with Einar Saukas's ZX7+RCS and my SetoLOAD. Loads in just 1'21" versus the 4'09" of the original TAP file.
Great game! Music has already been added but that version is being released on bumfumgaming first.
I really like the idea of your SetoLOAD tool Alessandro, but I cannot find any info about generating the file to load back in once you have assembled a selected source?

PS. I know his name is George, but that name is just wrong at so many levels!

I don't understand this...

If the company name was a bit more sensible I would probably buy some of his tapes. They look well produced.

Is the titular character based on any one we know? :))

Just tested on my phone and seems to load ok for me.
