  • I see the internet rumor mill is grinding again. Poor old Brucy is still in Hospital, Ch5 are showing his life story and the trolls are sending RIPS and jumping to early conclusions and conspiracy theories.

  • Which Bruce is that?
    What now?
  • Perhaps it's like the Paul McCartney theory, Brucie died years ago and has been replaced by a double.

Bruce 'play your cards right' Forsyth.

Shame about Jay Lynch, I do remember seeing his distinctive style as a kid. And especially remember the Bazooka Joe strips. RIP.

  • Sad day for British motorsports as legend Sir John Surtess dies aged 83. Champion on both 2 wheels, and 4.

Although he was a true legend he was never oddly enough knighted, It was Aussie Sir Jack Brabham who was the Grand Prix knight.

  • Yes my mistake there. John went on to run his own team in the 1970's, and his Surtees cars caused a blackout of F1 coverage with British TV broadcasters. All due to the teams sponsor Durex.

Johnny Cecotto, a name not many folk have probably heard of, but he nearly eclipse John by winning motorcycling world championships, before switching to 4 wheels. He debut in Formula 1 in 1983, but a year later he was teammate to somebody called Ayrton Senna?, with the Toleman team. Johnny's F1 career however was short lived after breaking both his legs during practice for the British Grand Prix that same year.

    Bugger!

A beautiful blues voice and a writer of songs and a weaver of dreams which described a way of life in "The American dream" 50's America he could never have experienced as a black southern boy, unlike middle class white Neil Sedaka who was universally praised for the same kind of song-writing.

On the other side of the coin though he was a terrible guitar player who got worse as he grew older regardless of those who say he was an influence and inspiration and his signature lick was ripped off,by his own admittance, from Louis Jordans' guitarist Carl Hogan and never played live in its original J B Goode form(except by you-tube wannabes) after the single was released.

    Like I said Bugger. :(
