Roll Call for CGE UK 2005

Despite everything conspiring against me to stop me from getting to Croydon a week on Saturday, like my specially bought-for-lugging-stuff-to-the-show car going tits up, and my hard drive failing, just as I've got a couple of hundred tapes to duplicate, I HOPE to be at the CGE UK show in Croydon.

Who else is going to be there?

Come and say hello to us, so we're not all lonely.

Depends on weather and bombs... the tube is horrendous at high summer, and even worse when there are explosions...

Unfortunately not, time recently just hasn't been on my side... although I aim to get moving on it at a fast pace in September.

    Hello..

I'm going to try to get myself booked in.

How difficult is it to get from Stanstead Airport to Croydon? By public transport, obviously?

I've got two options open - I can either get an early Saturday flight, or a late Friday one.

Will anyone be there Friday night, to make it worth my while? (FNAR! Ed)... Erm, you know what I mean, you pervs!

    Toodle-pip!

There will be absolutely loads of us on Friday. I believe a lot of them are staying/meeting at the Jury's Inn hotel, though we're at another one ourselves.

Remembering last years event, there will be loads of retro related friendly people hanging around.

I'll be going, not that anyone knows or cares who I am. I was able to get a day-release from GF, who's off on a jolly for the day.

However, being a slacker I've not actually bought myself a ticket. I assume they're not at "capacity"? Was going to buy a ticket on the door. Either that or I could phone up and reserve a ticket, I suppose. Hmm.

It wont be sold out i'm sure, just get a ticket at the door , probably wont have to queue for long

Suppose I could always blag my way in.
    "I'm Matthew Smith."
    "You look nothing like him."
    "Ehm... I had a shave?"
    "Go on through, Mr Smith."

    Yooouuuuu lucky, lucky bar-steds.
Not living in the UK anymore pisses me off when things like this come around. I miss everything(as in I can't attend AND, I miss all the stuff I used to do in the UK).

....and I expect you all to be hunting through your collections tonight to see if you anything at all that needs preserving.

    The WOS stand needs you.

Sadly, I don't have any Speccy tapes for preservation..

If I see the WOS guys, I'll buy them the cheapest alcohol in the area (failing that, Pepsi Max on buy 1 get 1 free!)

Unfortunately I won't be there. It's a pity as I was really looking forward to meeting Matthew Smith. I bought the ticket and arranged days off work and everything but now I can't go for financial reasons. :(
