Populous - Master System. I've always liked the Master System version. It seems like it shouldn't work without a mouse but somehow it does. Great conversion.
Playing Yakuza 0, and have finally beaten both those horrible dance battles with both characters, now just have to beat Jo, and So Amon.
What's worrying is Majima Fights Jo Amon, he's always the one Kiryu fights in every other game. He has 14 energy bars, and I've got him down to about 2, and a half, before he completely destroys me.
So Amon must be insanely hard? I've never ever fought him before....But Jo Amon is the Amon Clan leader, so So Amon must be the clan leader before Jo Amon was? Or some cliché' clap trap like that? :))
Been playing (and just finished) Quantum Break. Quite a few plot holes, which is somewhat par for the course, what with it being a time-travel yarn and all, but it was really quite enjoyable nonetheless. Definitely gonna be giving it another playthrough to see how the live action bits change depending on different decisions. Not bad. Not bad at all.
There's a guy at work who just keeps going on and on about Mass Effect, he doesn't seem to understand I have no interest in the series. Then he's like you don't have to have played the others to like the new one, and I'm like I don't care, just leave me alone I'll figure it on my own...
But he just keeps bugging me and it builds up inside!
AAAAAAGH!!!!
I'm not Crazy! Institution! You're driving me Crazy! Institution! You're making me Carzy! Institution!
They put me in an institution! Said it was the only solution! To get me the professional help to save me from the enemy myself!
So the other day at work I'm standing at the vending machine got a crisp green 1 dollar bill in my hand, so I try to feed it into the machine, and it won't accept it, so I grab some guy from a different department and say hey buddy do you have some quarters, so he gives me 2 quarters, and I say thanks, and put them in the machine! I press the button for Pepsi and the machine says sorry sir were all out please make another selection! But I didn't want Mountain dew, or Sprite I wanted a Pepsi, and it wouldn't give it me just a Pepsi and it would give it me, Just 1 Pepsi, and it wouldn't give it to me!
Still going strong on Phantasy Star Online, as there's an Easter event going and they released some interesting new items. I've just noticed a fairly recent article on pcgamer.com about the game, it describes very well why the game is so cherished by those who played it back in the day (yet I can't seem to ever get anyone interested).
I'd play, but I don't need anymore MMO's in my life :))
I've only really played 2 in the last however many years, and they sucked way more life out of me than I ever care to let a game do again.
Always wanted to get into this game properly back in the DC days, but I can't even remember if I've even played it before. I know me, or at least one of my friends had a copy of it at the time, and I actually think it was a legit copy as well? :))

Professional Mel-the-Bell Simulator................"So realistic, I found myself reaching for the Kleenex King-Size!" - Richard Darling
Megaman 2 (Nes). This could be the most frustrating game I've ever played. I've managed to complete 1 whole level so I'm feeling rather chuffed. Doubt I'll get much further lol!
'Rock 'n Roll Racing' on the Megadrive. "Tarquin is in another time zone!" it says. Yes, I always play as Tarquin.
Also, I got out 'Scorched Tanks' out on the Amiga Emu.Thought also to have a look again at 'Xenomorph'..it seemed so amazing at the time..but I gave up after 5 mins.
Yakuza 0 haven't tried to fight Jo Amon with Majima for about 4 days, after I did the Dance Battle with Majima I had a quick few goes at him, and he wasn't that hard to beat til' you get him about halfway through his 14 energy bars, and he pulls a knife out and goes ballistic. Like nearly all the other Yakuza games it's basically a case of picking the right equipment to wear, and using counter moves to gank him, which is really hard with Majima as his 'Final" Fighting Style only has one useful counter move and getting the timing right on it is a bit difficult.
Maybe I just needed a little break, I went in wearing the best Chainmail, since the bugger uses a knife, and 2 Mad Dog collars which boost the effects of Majima's final fighting style. I basically wiped the floor with him, on my first attempt :))
The counter works good, and with those 2 collars takes almost 2 bars off him every time you use it.....As always beating Amon becomes a case of exploiting his openings. Rather than actually trying to fight him properly.
It's funny after beating him Majima says "What's that Jo guys deal? What a Bizarre adventure." That really appealed to my inner fighting game nerd that did :))
Anyway, now off to fight So Amon with Kiryu Kazuma, probably not going to find this fight that easy. Then just for laughs I might hit up the Disco and try and complete those mini games they're a lot easier solo that in a battle. Then I'm probably going to finish the game off and start playing something else.
Maybe Silent Hill 3? I bitched and moaned for years it was too expensive, and hadn't played it blah blah blah, then a get a copy given to me, and haven't even put the disc in the bloody machine yet :))

Try Ninja Gaiden/Shadow Warriors. Then tell us about "frustrating". ;)
The DS Castlevania games, along with Resi-Evil Deadly Silence, would have been good enough reason for me to buy a DS I think. Especially since I think 2 of them are direct sequels or tie-ins to 2 of the GBA titles, and 1 of the 3 DS Castlevania's also lets you play as John Morris, which makes me feel like it's a sequel to the not so often heard of or played Bloodlines on the Megadrive/Genesis. Bloodlines is a good Castlevania game too, holds it's own against the other earlier 2D titles.
For all it's a good game though I never actually play as John Morris, he has basic forward whip attacks, whereas Eric Lecarde has a Spear which he can attack in 8 directions with, making him infinitely more useful than the main character.
Bugger! I just remembered my old assistant manager from work said I could have a DS for free, but I never got it off him, and he doesn't work at my place anymore :((
Dawn of Sorrow is the follow up to Aria of Sorrow on the GBA and is one of my favourite games of all time. The only thing that spoils it slightly is having to draw a magical symbol on the touch screen at the end of a boss battle. If you muck it up, the boss regains some energy!
It seems a lot of the early DS games had to shoehorn in some daft touch screen gimmick.
Man that ending has literally lasted about an hour, and the credits are just rolling now.
Explosive, moralistic, contradictory, and mental....Typical Yakuza title really.
I have new found understanding for Majima's insanity though, I almost shed a tear at the end of the game for that guy, you got snippets of why he was such a nut throughout the series, but 0 really brings it home. You feel so bad at the end for him even though you knew it was coming.
Also for Kiryu, he has the feelgood ending, but of course it makes no sense, but of course Kiryu Kazuma is the lovable dumbass, who makes no sense. He's a bumbling oaf really, but that's what makes him so great :))
Great game, possibly the best one so far gameplay wise, content is a little lacking compared to the 4 and 5...maybe.....But it's still great.
Here's where I get depressed now and don't play any games for a month while I work out in my head what to play next :))

Every time I turn my PS4 on it seems to want to let me know you've earned another 10 trophies for it :p
Of course I'm sure on the flipside if you ever see me on there it says the same about Yakuza 0 :))
Actually no, because all your trophy information is set to private so I see nothing!
Anyway, it's 13 trophies now :))
Master System?
Yup. It's the best version.
Indeed!
Although I am a little biased, I'll always love the Master System, it was my first "real" console :))

Maybe once I've gotten through the new Mass Effect. I know that once I properly start Yakuza 4, it consume my every spare minute. :D

I love a good Metroidvania and this is a good Metroidvania.
