  • Play it again..!
  • Yakuza 0 just finished it off....

Man that ending has literally lasted about an hour, and the credits are just rolling now.

Explosive, moralistic, contradictory, and mental....Typical Yakuza title really.

I have new found understanding for Majima's insanity though, I almost shed a tear at the end of the game for that guy, you got snippets of why he was such a nut throughout the series, but 0 really brings it home. You feel so bad at the end for him even though you knew it was coming.

Also for Kiryu, he has the feelgood ending, but of course it makes no sense, but of course Kiryu Kazuma is the lovable dumbass, who makes no sense. He's a bumbling oaf really, but that's what makes him so great :))

Great game, possibly the best one so far gameplay wise, content is a little lacking compared to the 4 and 5...maybe.....But it's still great.

Here's where I get depressed now and don't play any games for a month while I work out in my head what to play next :))

So it didn't say congraturation you success?

    Bloodborne!Bloodborne!Bloodborne!Bloodborne!Bloodborne!Bloodborne!Bloodborne!Bloodborne!Bloodborne!Bloodborne!Bloodborne!Bloodborne!Bloodborne!

    :-)

Have a look and see if The Witcher 3 GOTY is still £20 on PSN. I loved playing it that much on PC I picked it up again for PS4 the other week to start it again. It's a top game and I think you'll like it as I know how much you enjoyed Skyrim (as did I, but W3 is far superior). In fact, outside of the latest Zelda, I'd say it's the best open-world RPG on the market with easily the best quests I've ever played. The story's excellent and Grealt is effin' cool. Plus there's some great arse in there.

Thought I'd give Shadows of Mordor a blast, seems like it'd be a really good game, but it's a bit much to get into at the minute, seems quite deep, more so than I was expecting from a LOTR game. I knew it was an open world RPG but I was expecting more God of War type stuff like the older LOTR games, this looks like it'll require some serious time investment.

Seems like months of my life will vanish again if I start it properly...Nope shelved for now :))

Hey Vampyre almost did finally put Bloodborne back in the machine, but another RPG at the end of the day. I just realized 5 of the 11 PS4 discs I own are RPG's what the hell was I thinking? That's a good 2 years eaten up by default :))

Right now though I've hooked my PC up to my TV with an HDMI cable, gonna play some older games on my TV while I have a nice think about what I actually want to play next, and also because I left my Fusion emulator still dragged onto the secondary screen, and it won't come back up on my PC, it keeps thinking it's still on the TV. So I'll have to remember to drag it back onto the desktop tonight :))

It's the PC Engine version from the Wii virtual console. Should probably go a bit easier on the kids but then they'll never get any better will they? That's my excuse anyway! :))

Took me about 40 hours or so to finish Shadows of Mordor...that was including most of the collectables and fiddling around with promoting orcs and stuff which you can still do after you finish the story...could probably finish the story in under 30 if you didn't spend to much time making the orcs fight each other! Well worth playing though! :)

I just finished Tales Of The Borderlands, which is a Telltale game,so you know what to expect...quicktime events, point & click type stuff and game changes based on decision making....

Really enjoyed it though..probably my favourite Telltale game yet, which is saying something 'coz I loved The Walking Dead..great characters in this one though, especially Loaderbot....

Now I'm heading back onto Okami on PS2...only 8 hrs in, so a long way to go yet!
  • Had another blast of Shadows of Mordor this morning, I'm getting the hang of it, killed a captain who wasn't my target, but it's bloody annoying, you're fighting one captain then some hopeful sneaks up behind you, kills, you and gets promoted to captain. Then the sod kills another captain and ends up harder than the one you were trying to kill in the first place WTF? :))

Got into a horrible fight a few minutes ago, which basically ended up with the camera just flying all over, as I had 3 captains, and about 7 regular Uruk attacking me at once. I don't think I've ever hammered the triangle button so many times in such a short amount of time? :))

Stab, stab, counter, counter, stab, counter, counter, stab, counter, counter, counter, stab, counter.....seemed like it went on forever :))

Well I guess I'm playing Shadow of Mordor now :))

Killed a load of captains, haven't really done much else, but I'm curious, why the f**k does Rash the greedy keep coming back to life I've killed him 3 or 4 times now, and he keeps getting more deteriorated, and ugly with each kill, not to mention stronger?

He started off green, now he's like an off pink or white colour and no longer has pupils in his eyes, just bright blue. He's making me a bit nervous he is :))

I know what you mean - all I seem to play are RPG's these days or something similar that are massive time sinks. Breath of Wild, Witcher 3, Batman, MGSV, christ even Pro Evolution Master League is huge time investment and I've recently got back into that again after a hiatus of a few years. I'm kinda glad that No Man's Sky stunk a bit as I'd still be playing that!

Glad you're playing Mordor - I thoroughly enjoyed that. Don't think I ever completed the PC version (did on PS4) so might go back to that at some point.

You are missing out with Bloodborne though ;-) Best game ever IMO.

Sounds like a zombie has invaded your game....I never had that happen when i was playing! I'd be really worried.... :-S

Nah, it's a bit of a glitch that is half-supposed to happen..see this article...

    http://kotaku.com/nobody-knows-how-to-permanently-kill-shadow-of-mordors-1644777204

But if you can't be bothered reading that, it basically says that you need to do a proper execution kill on them to properly finish them off...although sometimes that might not work either!

I've got one of those guys in my game. I properly killed him the third time (took his head off) but he's still around in my game! He's looking seriously poorly now though :))

I wondered if he's actually part of the main story as he just keeps turning up!

  • I think I worked it out, and maybe the reason Monolith kept schtum about it is that the one who keeps coming back is the one the game marks as your Nemesis. Rash the Greedy didn't kill me much but he got me twice himself, and every other time I died around him he got promoted anyway. I eventually killed him more times than he killed me and he stayed dead. Today I think I worked it out as I have a particular captain that got me a few times, every time he got lucky, he's got loads of archers with him, and they kept getting me, he's an archer himself, and immune to stealth so you've just got to batter him. You can't finish him when he's down, and he loses next to no health when you do melee him. He Wraith Stuns, really easily though, and it's super easy to drain him if he's alone, so I've started catching up to him.

I got rid of a couple of other captains and now he's showed up as my nemesis, and I've killed him about 4 times now. So much so to the point he's even got his own Power Struggle mission. I feel like once I've done that he won't come back again.

Yup, same here, and as much as I love those kinds of games, I've really come to appreciate games that are quite short as a result. I don't get as much content for my hard-earned dosh, but at least I get to experience the whole game before being distracted by something else.

Speaking of time sinks, I'm still chipping away at Mass Effect: Andromeda, and have just finished my first season of NBA 2K17 (sort of, I'm now in the playoffs).

  • Tried MAME for the first time in months. Some great games playing Vanguard, Breakthru (good on arcade, crap on speccy!), Cadillacs vs Dinosaurs and Donkey Kong. A nice selection.
  • MAME is one of my fave emu's I can really get nostalgic playing all the arcades from when I was younger. Since I lived about a 20 minute Metro ride from the coast, and the seafront had loads of arcades. I pretty much frequented them between 1988 to about 1994, the arcades down there were mostly only 10p a go as well, and they had loads of different games. Used to save my dinner money at school, and then get my pocket money at the weekend, occasionally my gran would even give me a fiver. That was a good Saturday afternoon that was :D

It all kind of went wrong once I really started hanging around with girls, drinking and smoking weed and the like, but they were getting kind of sh*t by that time anyway.

Machines with light-guns costing a quid a go, Newer more advanced Fighters costing a quid a go and set on the hardest difficulty. Gone were the days of The Rainbow Room, Silver City, or Pastimes, with their 10p a go Toki, Splatterhouse, DJ Boy, and Street Fighter II.

I think by about 1998 all the arcades down at the coast were full of fruit machines, with a few hanging on with 50p or quid a go Mortal Kombat 2 machines, and light-gun rail shooters.

Who knows though apparently after years of people complaining they're thinking of re-opening the Spanish City in Tynemouth. Love to know how they're going to do that I'm pretty sure they demolished the Pleasuredome, which was pretty much what represented that place in the first place? Oh well?

....and that's me done The sepia filter returns to regular colour...

  • Well, I am not playing anything at the moment, but tempted to buy the Skyrim Special Edition so that I can go on a killing spree again... I had a look around Steam but could not honestly see anything else worth buying, :/
    So far, so meh :)
  • I've been tempted by Skyrim again, but do I really need to play through Skyrim again? The game is p*ss easy, and my first character was crap, and I still think I killed Alduin with 1 arrow before he even had a chance to do anything.

Never finished it off with my second character, she's still lurking around Solsteim in Bethesda limbo, and has been for the last few years :))

Sh*t now that I think about it I've still never actually finished Fallout 4 :))

  • I got bored with FO4, but I've never really spent much time playing Skyrim tbh. Tempted... :)
    So far, so meh :)
  • Still playing Shadow of Mordor, although I seem to be wasting a lot of time.

I'm still invading Feasts, Duels, Trials, and Beasthunts, even though I unlocked the final tier of Power-Ups 2 days ago :))

The only things I need to unlock are things that have pre-requisites, so why am I wasting my time? :))

Fun game, but a bit worryingly short, I've done 9/20 story missions, and it appears the Warchiefs count as story missions, and they're not even hard. The real challenge is the nest of b*stards they have lurking around them, the actual warchiefs are pussies, they all have really crap weaknesses, and I think the most powerful one I have is Power 11. I'll f*ckin' smash him to pieces I will :))

Need to do some more actual side missions, I want to ride Graugs :))
