Now you can start to level up a bit, things can get easier. I invested all my echoes into health, stamina, strength and skill. I'm pretty much a walking tank now! I think I'm something like level 172? Ill have to look it up :))
I started a One-Bro Challenge walkthrough a few months ago which was... a challenge, but fun. The idea behind that is you can never upgrade your character so he/she remains at Level 1. You can wear whatever armour you like, equip whatever objects you like and upgrade weapons too - just never the character. I was doing really well until I got to the Shadow of Yarnham boss in the Forbidden Woods...
Those bastards caused me serious issues on my NG+ play through! It too me months on and off to get past them. I managed to get to them without dying once in NG+ but then it was like hitting a brick wall! I've got a video on my YouTube channel when they kill me in seconds as I don't even get chance to get a single hit in :))
Still playing Bloodborne, and I guess I haven't messed anything up, but I still haven't killed the first boss yet, and near where the first brick troll is are some messengers, if I go near them it says "Summon Father Gascoigne". I did talk to the little girl that's looking for her mummy last night while I was playing and she gave me a music box.
She said mummy always played this when my father forgets me? Does she mean her dad, or father Gascoigne? Or is he her dad? The messengers only appeared after I got the music box, or they may have appeared sooner as I've been exploring a bit and haven't gone all the way along the main street since yesterday.
I'm assuming this is what caused it? Anyway it seems the game pretty much let's you wander around unchecked, because I'm uncovering, and doing things I'm potentially not supposed to be able to just yet? Not complaining it's a fun ride so far.
But I think I will try to kill the Cleric Beast, before I go summoning Father Gascoigne, something tells me he's going to eat me.
You can use the music box during the Father Gascoigne fight as it stuns him slightly in his first form, but if you use it too much, he'll change into his second form too early, so it's best off not to use it.
During his fight, try and hit him with a firebomb as he's in the process of changing as you'll cause some decent damage ;)
Cleric Beast is down, wasn't that hard once I watched his attacks, but he's still a sneaky bugger. Only 3 attempts to get him though well today anyway, so I guess that makes it about 5 attempts total.
Today first attempt whittled him down to where he literally would've took 2 hits or a Molotov to kill, and I ran out of stamina, and got stuck in a flurry and couldn't dodge. Second attempt got him about halfway down then lost it completely, so decided to take a bit of a breather, cracked a beer, had a snout...
....Third attempt...Completely murdered him, ran circles around him, only used 2 blood vials, and probably didn't need to, but was being cautious. I used a couple of molotovs when he was charging his red aura attack, that seems to either knock him out of it, or even if it doesn't it hurts him bad, and the idiot usually tries recharging it right after :))
Sad thing is, the Cleric Beast in this game gave me more sh*t that Flamelurker in Demon's Souls :))
EDIT: Hang on? Now I'm confused? Those messengers that had the "Summon Father Gascoigne" message are gone now I've beat the Cleric Beast? I'm assuming I now have to make it to the other side of the great bridge or some crap like that? Bugger maybe I should've summoned him before trying to kill the beast?
The doc finally gave me the OK to remove the bandages and air this monstrosity out for an hour or so before I wash it and apply a new bandage every day. Feels really nice actually just to have that f*cking gauze off my finger without worrying it's gonna drop off.
Some were curious what my finger was like, well there you have it...If you think this looks nasty you should've seen it when it was fresh :))

I'm not usually one to get queasy with these kinds of things, but that does looks pretty rank! :-& Glad it's healed somewhat though, sounds like it's slowly getting there.
I've been playing GTA V. Fancied a "quick go" of it earlier this week, but now everything else is on hold and I'm properly hooked on it again. Realised I'd never finished it on the Xbone, so I'm doing that this time, might even try to 100% it.
Are you playing GTA V single player or online.
I sometimes like to go on a kiiling spree, knocking people down, shooting helicopters out the sky etc....
The i put the PC on :))
I haven't touched online for so long not sure if my account will still be active but i don't really care, i play single player mode now and again :D
Playing single player, I haven't played the online mode in yonks. Got a little fed up with it, to be honest. Some of the new DLC they've added to it looks fun though, so I may dip into it again at some point.
I've purposely avoided upgrading to PS4, because I feel like more of my life will be sucked away from me.
It's still crazy that a game that's almost 4 years old is still selling for full price on PS4, it's still that popular. I played single player and online to death on PS3, but I haven't since last year now as I went back to it after about a year of not playing, my account was still active, but there's so many modders and cheaters on PS3 now it's not worth even trying to play properly.
An old work mate of mine told me PS4 is just as bad if not worse for people cheating, you'd think Rockstar would try and stay on top of the newer format's security a bit better. I can understand the PS3 online mode slowly rotting away, but if they expect people to still pay top dollar for an online version you have to pay a premium for to use then it'd better be a fun and fair experience before I go buying another copy of a game I've already got. I don't care if they added extra drug abuse, and domestic cats to the main game...
Well didn't play Bloodborne again til' last night when I got in from work, almost got Father Gascoigne, but I somehow stupidly died on my way back to him so lost the massive pool of Blood Echoes that kept getting dropped near him. So I went and farmed some echoes so I could restock my consumables, and found I've now got a load more of them available, and some cool new weapons.
So now I'm grinding a few echoes so I can buy some new gear, already bought myself some throwing knives to try out, a Saw-Spear, and the Pistol (Started with the blunderbuss). Not sure the spear was a good choice since I already have the cleaver, but not to worry most of the new stuff is quite affordable so I'll just buy the lot, and mix n' match to see what I like. That'll help me to decide what to upgrade, and what to ditch.
I'm off work today, so I'm gonna get a good session in today.
The doc finally gave me the OK to remove the bandages and air this monstrosity out for an hour or so before I wash it and apply a new bandage every day. Feels really nice actually just to have that f*cking gauze off my finger without worrying it's gonna drop off.

Yuck ! I wish I hadn't asked.
Next question, why do you keep a set of Drumsticks in your Jacket ???????
Every time I read that the oldest person in the world has died, I have to do a quick check to see it isn't ME..........

LOL
incase adam ant or John Lydon ask him to be their next drummer?
Professional Mel-the-Bell Simulator................"So realistic, I found myself reaching for the Kleenex King-Size!" - Richard Darling
It's not drumsticks or a jacket, it's the top layer of my little nephews pack and play we had to take it out the other day because he's too heavy now to lay in the top part. The sticks are metal rods that used to hold it in place.
In other news......................
I've been playing Mafia 3 and does anyone know a way of getting anyone else to collect your kickback money? I'm spending half the game collecting it and putting it in my safe and it's getting annoying and preventing me from getting any missions done.
I'm airing the pizza-finger out now, apart from all the soggy dead skin around the actual wound it's not that bad, it's pretty much closed up underneath, and I can start to see the lines of my fingerprint reforming under the slightly translucent looking layer of flesh.
I'm hoping it'll be back in working order in another 2-3 weeks, it's really stiff though so I'm hoping I'm not gonna have to have physio on it, I'm sure that will be erm slightly uncomfortable.
I can sympathize a bit as I decided to stab my thumb with the pointy bit of a potato peeler yesterday, after it somehow made it's way hidden down the side of my sofa....Nowhere near as bad as your finger, but it's pretty deep and in a really annoying place for using thumbsticks.....
Anyway, I've been playing far too many games again, but
I'm trying to get back into Far Cry 4 on 360, which despite being more-of-the-same groovy gameplay as Far Cry 3, somehow isn't hooking me as much as that game...
I've also been enjoying the multiplayer side of Battlefield 4! I've always preferred the Battlefield games to the Call Of Duty series, and somehow always seem to do a lot better at actually playing them against people online.
Retro-wise, I just picked up Crash Bandicoot - Wrath Of Cortex and Crash - Twinsanity on the original XBox, so I'll be giving them a bash later too! :)
I had a really sh*t day at work, wasn't bad work wise it was just a long and drawn out shift, with dirty eyes pointed my way cos' my hands knackered, and I can't do my usual work, got home a few hours ago, on about my 5th beer.
Tonight is the night me and Father Gascoigne end this pointless charade of avoiding each other, tonight is the night I bury that bast, so I can go and give his daughter the pendant I picked up off her dead mother 3 days ago, tonight is the night that bast is going in the ground. I'm not going to sleep til' he's asleep first.
Although to be fair I was doing OK against him til' I realized I'd opened up a load of weapons, and stuff in the Hunters Dream a couple of days ago, so I'm probably gonna flatten him now, and be like "Oh OK that's it?" :))
I took the time to grind, and buy up the weapons, and things I'd unlocked, so it's been about 2 days since I fought him. I'd say I wish I'd started with the Hunter's Axe, but it's really slow, so I'm glad I started with the Saw-Cleaver, it's a good mid-ranged weapon, with a semi decent speed. I like the Threaded Can, but it's a bit puny, but I'd a couple of runs through the streets of Yharnam using it, just to get a feel for it, it's good for lashing down 4 or 5 enemies at a time in whip form. Not bad at all, but no real damage, 4 or 5 swings in it's vanilla form to finish off a basic Yharnamite, not inspired by it, but I'm sure after a few upgrades it'll be f**king deadly. Got the Hunters Axe as my secondary right hand weapon converted and a charged swing with that bad boy, I don't even have to waste Molotov's or stagger a Brick Troll I can just send the fat f*ckers flying with it, first time I did that I literally "LOL'd" :))
EDIT: Father Gascoigne is no more, and I'd like to say maybe I'd done too much grinding, but no! That was a tough fight regardless, his second form is freakin' relentless! :O
EDIT: Father Gascoigne is no more, and I'd like to say maybe I'd done too much grinding, but no! That was a tough fight regardless, his second form is freakin' relentless! :O
Well done mate, he's a tough fight early doors. I'd like to say it gets easier, but it doesn't... Next up will probably be Vicar Amelia unless you go downstairs and meet the f**ka in the tower with the gatling gun. Oh, if you do go downstairs there's eventually a wolf you can grind for an almost guaranteed blood stone shard.
Vicar Amelia is tough and it might be worth spending some Insight on co-op. She's susceptible to fire so carry some molotovs, and if you don't know, throwing an oil urn before a molotov makes that fire more intense. There's another item that you can throw at her that prevents her restoring herself - can't remember what it's called though. Something mist I think.
After you beat Amelia you should unlock Eileen the Crow (another hunter - don't harm her) and it's well worth doing her quest line as you get some great armour that prevents Frenzy - believe me, you'll come to dread that build-up noise later on. You should meet Elieen outside the church in the next-ish area, then go to the Gascoigne area to continue her quest after talking to her.
Later where Vicar Amelia is another Hunter appears who you have to fight to complete Elieen's quest. If you thought Gascoigne was tough... he is NOTHING compared to that b**tard!
Yeah I'm kind of flying blind now, I rescued the old lady from Yharnam, and she's just as ungrateful sounding, and mean as she was when you talked to her through her door, went wandering around met Alfred. Opened the tomb up, but didn't go down there yet.
Went another way where there's a cliff with 2 brick trolls and one of those giant buggers with the masks on. Killed the one at the other end of the walkway, after closing the gate on the other one. Went down the steps and got my first blood gem out of a chest, but the door next to the chest said closed. So now I either have the choice of going into the tomb, or facing the other huge bloke on the stairs.
Just realized though, don't think I've returned to the Hunters Dream since I killed Father Gascoigne last night, maybe I should cash those echoes in and repair my weapons before I go being all brave and stuff? :))

Yep, you unlock it as one of the underboss perks, from Vito I think. I know what you mean, that game really goes out of its way to send you out of your way! :D

I know exactly where you are in - Cathedral Ward. All those echoes you've got you'll do well to spend now in the Hunters Dream. There's a massive gate in the area you're currently in that will only open with a key, the Hunter Chief Emblem - and that costs 10,000 echoes in the Hunters Dream. Getting it will open up the path to Vicar Amelia and a couple of other areas - one of them being Henwick Charnel Lane which is a fun area.
In Cathedral Ward you've got a couple more of those giants that you'll fight in a big plaza (they're pretty easy though) and then you'll come across the worst enemy in any videogame ever - the Brainsucker. They're not particularly tough but should they grab hold of you they suck up at least one of your Insights - and it's heartbreaking to see those disappear.
That locked door you mention is From **** with its players. You never find a key to open it - the only thing of use down there is the chest.
The tomb you've just opened will lead to that wolf I mentioned for Blood Shard farming. There's another lantern just after the wolf so it's easy enough to get back to it. That lantern is Old Yarnham that has the Hunter with the gatling gun.
Hope you're enjoying it. Your exploits have made me put it on again and I didn't realise how much I've missed it. Bloodborne 2 was leaked yesterday too. Cannot wait.
Oh, if you can, buy the DLC. It's fabulous and about 1/3 the size of the main game - which is massive. Well worth 15 quid.
