  • Just come to where I work and listen to the radio, it's friggin', awful, and over the years the 3-6 songs it's played that I may have liked at one time I now absolutely hate.
    Every night is curry night!
  • Candle in the Wind by Elton John. He wrote it about Marilyn Monroe but hang pn, change a couple of lines and suddenly it's a heart felt song about Princess Diana! Very cringeworthy!

anything by Eminem. his voice is enough to make me recoil. the "Hi...My name is. Hi...my name is...Slim Shady!!" one could be the worst offender of many

  • Christ! That's a winner Deadpan666. That's bloody awful, perhaps the worst yet that I've heard.
  • I'm waiting for Mel's suggestions, if anyone can top the lot it should be him.
  • Renée and Renato save your love
Oh god yes! Utter, utter, utter crap.

Why's he hated so much? I don't mind him - he's done some okay stuff and seems to come across as an okay guy when interviewed. I wouldn't buy one of his albums but I don't switch the radio over when one of his songs come on.
  • Dry Your Eyes by The Streets.
I wanna tell you a story 'bout a woman I know...

Knowing Mel, he'll probably have most of these on vinyl!

Especially when sung to the tune of The Muppet Show:

  • Or vice-versa:

    Joefish

  • That 'Be True To Yourself' that DeadPan added is f*cking golden!

    I'll also add in:

Rick Astleys cover of 'When I Fall In Love'
Jennifer Rush 'The Power of Love'
Chris De Burgh 'Lady in Red'
    Baltimora 'Tarzan Boy'

I can't stand his voice, nor can I stand the sickly, sugary sweet ballads he unleashes it upon. He does come across as a really nice bloke though, and not afraid to take the mick out of himself, which is quite refreshing in celebs these days. I'm the same with Michael Bublé - can't stand his music, but he seems like a properly nice bloke.

Pretty much this. Horrible, horrible music but seem like decent guys. Robbie Williams on the other hand, horrible horrible music, absolute twat!
  • I'm not going to post a vid to it because I don't want to see or hear it ever again if possible.

The Millenium Prayer by Cliff Richard, now that really is like nails on a blackboard.
    Every night is curry night!
  • What about 'Clouds across the moon' by the Rah Band. Pretty cringee.
    Sod it!

Grotesque! Neutron bomb is the worst of Mels entries though because its so trite. Thats what I mean by cringe worthy - trite or pretentious lyrics and frankly I think for that award I'd still put MacArthur Park and Whiter Shade of Pale in the top five - I'm allowing for three more contenders. Fortunately a lot of the suggestions I've never heard of and they can stay that way.

  • Yuk! I'd forgotten just how appalling disco was! How could anyone live with themselves after taking part in that weird aberration?
