What game is this. PLEASE

edited August 2005 in Games
I am trying to locate an old Spectrum game from about 1980. I cant remember the name or publisher but it was a very uniqe game. The game was a competition and the first to solve won a prize. The action was set in a maze and you had to travel in it. Also in the maze was rolling spheres that killed you if touched and towers on the walls that could shoot. By mapping the route you deduced the map and could activate doors allowing you through different areas. Often you had to travel behind the spheres to avoid the towers.

Any help would be appreciated.

I am mightly impressed with the speed of the reply, but have to ask if you know this because you are (take this the right way) an anorak or because the game was something special.
Do you know if you can get this on emulation (for XP) and if there is a soultion out there. I didnt finish it.

Gyron is a classic. The winner of the competition won a sportscar and - because of his age - decided to trade it for cash.

We're all anoraks around here :) The game itself is fairly famous, though.

As others have said firstly get yourself a Spectrum emulator, theres many for Windows XP.

Then go to the archive here at the site, the game is here...

On the same page is a link for the game map, you can read old reviews of it in scans of magazines.

Clicking on the Tipshop gives you hints/pokes and walkthroughs.

    Cheers

Oh, no. Every time you turn up something monumental and terrible happens.
I don’t think I have the stomach for it.
