I will get in touch with Adonis ( the "Add- ons" god , I believe) about that one.
I think you mean Adonio Papadovillenakis. I know for sure he'll answer no is no though it may well be a big no is no no. Sorry Theswifty for the noise lol
No magic . I pressed the link on the £29.99 offer and it goes through to a page at the new price of £49.99 : so that offer has gone definitely. It presents an Interesting price hike of £20.00 indicating that they are not trying to compete with the Amazon price of around £35.00. OK different companies ,different prices..
I have bought the Recreated ZX in Game.co.uk recently. It looks unlocked because in A mode I can type all the letters. Moreover, when I go to the unlock procedure and it asks for me to press CAPS SHIFT, nothing happens when I press the key.
The problem is I don't feel the keys are responding fast. I have tried to play games like Commando, and both in A and B modes it's really difficult to play. When I press up, left and fire at the same time, a lot of times one of the keys stops responding. I have tried in Android using Spectacol in both modes and also in Fuse in Windows. The modes work as expected, but my feelings are some pressings are not detected randomly, so it's really complicated to play arcades even in Mode A with the emulator recognising the Recreated correctly.
I fear if I may have a faulty one :-( or maybe I am doing something wrong. Please help me. I was really happy with my new adquisition untill I have started to play games and the sensations are not good (it's like if the keyboard reacts slowly to the keypresses and some of them are lost randomly)
Yes, the problem happens even if I connect the keyboard to a PC directly using the USB port. In a notepad if I keep pressed for example a single letter...it starts repeating it without problem...but sometimes randomly and even if I have not stopped pressing the key, it stops writing and I have to press the key again. But it does not depend on a key in particular. It happens ramdonly...
I suppose that is the reason why I have problems to play arcades requiring two or three keys pressed at the same time and the player suddenly stops running and I must re-press the keys again.
May could be the connectors between the board and the keyboard if they are not perfectly joined? I don't know if I should open the keyboard or not to see if that is the problem. I have seen some photos of the inside here:
It does sound like a hardware problem. If you hold a key down in the normal PC keyboard mode you'd expect it to keep repeating, not randomly stopping. You should try with a different USB cable - I've had a faulty one of those before.
Mine came unlocked, so I don't know what symptoms of a locked keyboard are. Are you sure yours is unlocked?
Well, I suppose it is unlocked because when in QWERTY mode I can type all the letters of the keyboard (I think I should not be able to type all, just only the keys of the first row if locked). Moreover when I try to unlock it, the instructions say: Press CAPS SHIFT to unlock, but when I press it, nothing happens.
All keys are correctly detected in Mode B, that's why I think is unlocked. I will try another USB cable at home but the strange thing is when connected with bluetooth the problem is the same....
I don't know how it works inside but It's like not all keypresses from the keyboard are correctly communicated to the board that processes them (some are lost). That's why I think about a bad connection between both components. If someone thinks the cable that joins them could be the cause maybe it could be worth to try to open it to have a look.
I don't know if a bad connection could explain the random loss of keypresses. I have seen there are some screws to remove in order to access the inside of the keyboard but I don't know if that could void the warranty. But if there's a chance...because returning the keyboard is a mess (international sending, etc)
Ah, OK, if it does it in bluetooth mode it must be something in the box. Normally you'd just send it back for replacement, but if that's hard you could have a look inside. But as with most electronic stuff you're unlikely to find anything user serviceable in there. Intermittent faults are hard to find. Contact the supplier. They might just send you a new one.
Personally I'd send it back for replacement. It's worth it. I bought a RZXS a year ago and have just ordered a second one as a spare. Ironically that was because I thought the keyboard might develop a fault like original Spectrums do. I liked the RZXS so much I wanted to get a spare while I still could.
Finally I have contacted the seller and will try to return the keyboard (I am still not sure who will pay the return costs) asking for a new one. Thanks thricenightly for all your help. Now I can confirm it is really faulty.

Thanks in advance!
Are you using Bluetooth or wired? If Bluetooth, switch to wired. That will at least take BT out of the equation.
Then try to use it as a normal keyboard in, say, Notepad. If that responds normally you know it's not a physical fault.
