  • Tried Walker's Fusions Cheddar and red pepper but they tasted like a toilet.
Walkers are rubbish - i'm going back to Golden Wonder, their flavours are much better.
    The trouble with tribbles is.......
  • The Pringles erm 'tray' reminds me of the soon to appear (probably) seasonal flavour(s) of said crisp.

Not tried the Fusions as I don't like any of the varieties that I've found. I do like the 'Sensation' Chicken/Thyme flavour bags (they are on offer for £1 for big bag) though, and I'm not a mass fan of either flavour mix but they seem quite nice, pack lasts quite a while too several 'munching' sessions.
  • Got these to try today from Poundland

I actually had a multipack of these on my online shop as well as a multibag of the sea-salted ones, but I had to lose one so removed the beef ones as the two reviews, one said greasy and the other said they were not that flavourful.

I'm starting to wish I'd dumped the sea-salt ones and tried the beef actually so I could of made up my own mind. Maybe next time. On a positive note the sea-salt ones are quite nice.

  • The Bargain Booze opposite me is selling off loads of out-of-date crisps at five for a quid. I will partake of five packs of Bugles, if you don't mind. I remember these being on sale on the continent the first time I left our shores for a metal festival (Graspop, Belgium, 2000) but they didn't arrive here until a decade later at least, and it looks like they haven't really taken off.

The Bargain Booze are also trying to get shot of Walkers Lime & Black Pepper crisps, and so is Geoff's convenience store. They are not flying off either of the shelves even at 20p a packet. Nobody wants them. I think we've found the official worst crisp flavour ever.
  • I like Seabrooks but they tend to shred my mouth :))

This time a weird innovative variety: lemon & black peppers flavoured chips.

The strong lemon flavour gives it a weird touch.

Warning! Only eat these if you want about 5 crisps in each packet! I should have realised this when each bag weighed 12g!

  • So they're just regular ready salted crisps, they just give you considerably less than a regular bag (Which is still a pretty stingey portion anyway).
    Every night is curry night!
  • Missed out on the 'seasonal' Pigs/Blankets crisps unfortunately, same with the other flavour I spotted 'Gin/Tonic' ( ! )

I did manage to grab a bag of these 'Steak/Ale/Onion' :) Although I've not opened them yet. That's probably tomorrow's little snack:

These also look quite interesting although the brand I have not noted them locally yet, they do have some more 'regular' varieties too, I'll probably try a pack or three when I see them as I'm quite curious to try them now I've seen them:

    hehe :D

No 'crisp' news really from me, I did grab two bags of Tesco's own 'Ridge' and 'Meat flavour' crisps 6-pack bags although I've yet to form an opinion on them, each pack was 85p. The couple I have tried from the ridge bag are OK flavour wise but seem a bit too salty. Too early to be sure just yet.

Maybe he's on the 'wagon' and does not post because the temptation is too much to bear.

  • I bought a multipack of 6 packets (cheese and onion, ready salted and salt and vinegar) in Morrisons the other day. It was their own brand ridge cut crisps, i tried the cheese and onion last night and they had no flavour whatsoever, very bland and tasteless. I haven't tried the others but not sure i'll bother, they were 89p mind.

  • Sainsburys own brand are far better than Walkers and a lot cheaper too

Their plain ready salted are reasonable. Their chip sticks are very salty, check online reviews can confirm this. They are nice but just a bit salt o.t.t. Reminds me of the new McCoys 'Chippy Sticks' actually similar thing tiny tiny sticks (matchstick size more or less!) and lots of them.

Their large sharing bag sea salt and pepper/salt are very nice though. DId not like their onion rings that much when I tried them though. Shame they don't offer (yet) some kind of 'meaty crisps' pack

Their multi 'Ready Salted' type bag, its the same (or almost the same, as far as I can tell) as the Morrisons one. Would not surprise me if its the same manufacturer.

Although slightly off topic regarding 'same manufacturer' the Morrisons, Tesco and Sainsbury's salt/pepper crackers are the same, same box (different colours) same quantity, same place of manufacture in Canada... Morrs and Tesco sharing bags of the salt/pepper crisps are about the same too, although perhaps surprisingly the Tesco ones are a bit nicer.

Funny because that is the one Walkers flavour that I actually like !

  • In my local Tesco they only seem to sell Cheese & Onion crisps, no matter which brand you look at, there are NO Salt & Vinegar, but three whole boxes of cheese, which proves it is not a space issue.

Is that one an 'Express' mini one ? The one that's nearest me is (about 1.5 miles) and there's a lack of their own brand items it seems. Unfortunately the main large one is about 5 miles away (no transport currently!) and the one in town is a bit too far for me too.
