  • Probably needed a second box then..!
  • Nah i was stuffed when i was finished! :D
    The trouble with tribbles is.......
  • Yesterday's dinner - Ginsters chicken and bacon slice, crinkle cut McCains chips, a bit of salad and coleslaw. Salt, pepper, vinegar, brown sauce, and a splash of Encona hot sauce.

I probably should have oven cooked the slice with the chips rather than microwave it, as it collapsed a bit. But the chips needed to be on about 220 and the slice said 160 so it would have resulted in some burning/undercooking on one of the items.
  • You could try putting them in the oven at different times, that might work, or put the slice at the very bottom of the oven, or eat it cold, or get a friend to eat it.

  • I used to love those Ginsters Pepper Beef slices, and the Spicy chicken slices.

I'd nick them from the all night garage on the way home from town almost every weekend, there was one night I was really really pished, and I microwaved it, and put it in my trouser pocket.

    Not a wise move ;)
    Every night is curry night!
  • No pictures, you will have to imagine !

A full fried breakfast with 2 pork sausages, 4 slices of crispy bacon, fried bread ( using the fat from the sausages & bacon ) topped with two extra large fried eggs, fried mushrooms, & beans. Not very health or wise, that is why I used a slice of Hovis wholewheat bread with spelt. Just to keep it legal.

I learned that trick from someone ordering from McDonalds They ordered the largest meal they could but insisted that the extra, extra large diet coke which they also ordered, balanced it out !

I would have scoffed that, looks good.

That would have been nom'd faster than I kill things in Fallout4/Skyrim !!!!
    So far, so meh :)
  • I didn't think Ginsters could be done in the microwave - i thought they had to be done in the oven.

I throw everything in the microwave.. We should start a thread for "Microwaved Monstrosity!" :)

  • Hmm, i think one saucer thread is enough! :D

Yes they can, but the pastry is soft, I prefer them that way, ready in 60 seconds, or 1 minute, depending on your preference !

Sausage rolls yes, beans no, never been a fan of beans heh
    So far, so meh :)
  • Love beans, but as a starter, as a soup, never mixed with anything as a second course.

I love those kind of rolls, looks good, BTW.

  • Scummius Maximus! I love it, I'd have inhaled that! Needs brown sauce though...

Those beans have no butter melted into them !

What are Greggs sausage rolls like ? I have not been able to find an edible sausage roll in ages, the last one I got was in a Sainsbury's hot food counter, it stank and the meat inside seemed only part cooked, it made me feel sick.

It's a British thing to mix all kind of stuff together that other nationalities think is bizarre. Do other countries do beans on toast or is that a Brit only thing too?

Conversely I was watching BBC's Saturday Kitchen a few months ago and the Aussie chef who does BBC Masterchef made a comment on the way Brits each jacket potatoes. Us Brits are one of the few countries in the world (or possibly the only country) where a jacket potato will be the main course (i.e. nothing else on the plate) whereas everywhere else a JP would be a side dish.

Love me a jacket spud with nothing but butter, cheese and maybe some coleslaw on it. In fact that's most Fridays tea before training.

Count me in for the Potato, but out for the training !

It really is a bit random, some branches make them more greasy than others, if i get a greasy one i get heartburn but these were fine.
Can you get sausage rolls in America?

Oh, they'll hate them - just like they hate any coffee that isn't thick as tar and served in a thimble. And insist a serving of lasagne should be the size of a postage stamp. And that spag bol should have a homeopathic quantity of meat compared to tomato in the sauce, and a similarly infinitessimal ratio of sauce to pasta.

'Donatello', off Brighton Place in the old town - see the last pizza on the left here:
    http://www.donatello.co.uk/food/files/assets/common/downloads/page0002.pdf

Also look at the last one in the right-hand column. Not sure what that says about us! Perhaps someone is taking the p*ss...

Best 'racist stereotype' pizza I've had was a Chinese one in the Wildwood restaurant in Peterborough. They're a chain and my nearest now seems to be Camberley. Check out the Hoi Sin duck with spring onions, cucumber and coriander:

    Yum.
