Every time I read that the oldest person in the world has died, I have to do a quick check to see it isn't ME..........

Too much heavy lifting of record boxes, some tosser asked for two Clash LPs and they were in one of the bottom boxes, so far two days of agony, but I am sure they will appreciate the albums.

Michael Fassbender? Maggie Gyllenhaal? No it bloody won't! :-&
Although it was an amusing film, it had very little to do with Frank Sidebottom, Being Frank is Really, him, you know it is, it really is !
It seems that they ended up fairly well known, now there is a film to tell the REAL story, it is a shame that these films always fall short of the mark, because after all of these years of making up back stories to their lives, they forget to focus on the real truth, which is usually far more interesting than the spoon fed drivel we seem to prefer !

I wondered who the hell is/was Frank Sidebottom and looked him up which led me to Chris Sievert (who didn't seem to do so well despite a lot of effort at various things, dying penniless poor sod) and that in turn led me to OINK! and its online pages, some of them very funny, I especially liked the spoof on that comic character that ran races and lived on fish'n'chips, Alf somebody? (The toff of the track?)
I practically lived on fish'n'chips for lunch every day for my five year apprenticeship so that comic strip stayed in my memory!
Its these cultural quirks that make WoS so interesting to me.
Hadn't heard of Oink! before either so I just got an inisght into what was probably the popular influence of the time for several of you blokes.

Mark and Lard of Radio One fame had a lot to do with some of the stuff in there, so it was always going to have crude, and surreal humour on the pages. I still have the 1988, and 1989 Oink! Annuals somewhere, they made the trip overseas with me they did :))
I used to love Oink! When I was younger, but it really is just silly stuff in there, looking back it was really unfair for the "powers that be" to compare it to Viz, just shows how prudish some of us still were back in the 80's.
Not to mention the fact that he wrote a computer game for the Spectrum, The Biz
