Spending old £10 notes

I was saving for something last year but got sidelined and never managed to finish saving. I noticed today that the savings contain a lot of the old £10 notes. Will the bank still change them to new ones or am i stuffed? If so, that's over £100 down the drain.

  • Take them to the bank, they will exchange them. You might have to pay them into your account first.
  • Send them to me for re-cycling, they are worthless scraps of paper, alternatively take them to YOUR bank, no account, no changey.

  • As others have said Bank is the only sensible option. I don't think the Post Office will take them (although ours would take the older pound coins for a couple of weeks after they were withdrawn as such) , but generally to 'exchange' them they need to go into your account, rather than calling into any bank that's nearest etc.

Having said that if a P.O is on the way or nearer it may be worth asking them, simply to save time but I'd be surprised if they would...
  • My bank and post office are opposite each other on the street.
It'll have to wait till next weekend as i'm working late this week.

Twas just a passing thought as the 'mini' P.O here is about 2 minutes (if that long) walk away whereas the bank is a good 20 minutes. :) Not really helpful I know but that was the reasoning behind my post simply as if it was on the way to your bank or quicker to try them first etc if they were nearby. Obviously not. :D

Reminds me I still need to try to sort this £5 coin business out at some point this month too *sigh*

We had some crispy duck a few weeks ago although it was not that nice, it was in some kind of pineapple sauce which spoilt it. Then again I'm not really a duck eating fan anyway, I think that's only the second or third time I've tried it in my 40+ years, and it was not my meal I just had a nibble (with permission!) to try.

Hmm, regarding eating crispy anura or salientia , pretty sure you can get crispy legs of them at least at a decent French restaurant.
