  • Excellent - especially if you have children around the house.
I'm a bit surprised over the amount of salt needed, though.

  • Just me ( The Big Kid )

The salt does not go into the slush mix, only on the Ice which is away from the drink !

The salt is in a separate compartment with the ice, a lot of ice cream machines use rocksalt, as salt does infact melt ice quite quickly, but in doing so it makes it super cold as it's killing it.

    That's the simpletons version anyway....

The slush comes from the seperate amount of water that's poured in after the ice and salt into a different compartment, but it's no doubt in close proximity, and frozen by them as the machine works it's cycle..

...and now! I want one! ;)

  • They've missed out the later part of the instructions.

Once the novelty has worn off, tip the contents down the drain.
Do NOT wash the compartments out.
Pack the machine back in the box.
Bung it under the stairs to add to the Sodastream, Brevill sandwich toaster and George Foreman Grill collection.
Allow three years to pass... try to sell it at a bootfair for £20, you will get offers of a 'cheeky fiver', you WILL tell that person to **** off.

Well done for buying it.. Just a pity that the video didn't show them filling the machine from above, this would make it a lot clearer for those that don't read instructions and/or want to see the thing in action. Oh well, at least it didn't have plinky plonky music on it

  • ^^ This! :))

  • Hey, what is wrong with plinky plonky music ?

I agree that you won't be wanting slush in winter, but for me, the novelty will not wear off, I was obsessed with slush in the 70s and the obsession has never really gone away.

Well the machine works very well, but is badly designed, it is best to turn the machine off and remove the whole lid to add the salt, the liquid filling slot could do with a re-design as well, but I am well slushed at the moment !

I would like to say that it may be no good for football fans as you need a steady hand to use it and football fans have shakey right hands on the whole, whoops, did I go to far ? ( to quote Boozy ).

Although I didn't think that anyone took anything I said seriously, most comments are meant light heartedly, or with irony.

Doesn't alcohol explode if left in the freezer too long?
    The trouble with tribbles is.......
  • Depends if it's good stuff or cheap sh*t! Good bottles generally don't pop, but cheap crap like Miller or Budd will burst all over your freezer.

I've never had a can of beer explode, but I've heard horror stories from people it has happened to. Beer especially cheap beer goes really syrupy in your freezer as well so it's a bitch to clean up, usually resulting in you having to take most of the stuff out and wipe it off, or in some extreme cases throw it away....

I do recall an incident back in about 2003 when one of my pals left a bottle of Blue Sound in my freezer at my ma's house. I had to take everything out of my freezer and clean it off, and throw some of it away, because not only did the lid pop off the bottle but the whole thing shattered inside my freezer. My mate didn't believe me and thought I'd drank his booze, and went in the huff with me for about 3 days...…...f*ckin' dick! :))
