Anyone buying the new Beatles White Album set? I'd like it as there is a lot of outtakes i don't have but i don't agree with remixing old albums as this isn't staying true to the original.
What they have also done is actually re-record some bits for it! That's unacceptable. It also isn't cheap.
I'll steal it off the internet hoping that there's a bit in the background between tracks where if you turn the bass all the way down turn the treble all the way up, and dance round in circles naked in the middle of the room you can hear Ringo call Paul a fat c*nt.....

im interested, but yeah, agree, some bits are rerecorded, i read the mellotrons rerecorded, not by a band member either but an engineer...on the original mellotron mind

I am currently listening to late 80s and early 90s semi-commercial housey technoish type of music on Compact Cassettes. The compilations were made when I was 12 and 13 from tapes and CDs borrowed of my older sister's boyfriend and taped off the radio. They come from that mid point between the House and Rave movement and are neither and both at the same time.
The tapes were made on a cheap Panasonic plastic stereo system, you know the ones that were made to look like a stacking system but did no even have a CD player? Thankfully, I was quite a resourceful kid and got given a broken CD player which I fixed by giving the laser lens a good clean. Despite being a crap system it seems to be able to make quite listenable recordings. They are definitely better, than pre-recorded factory made audio cassettes.
That pic looks like my 90's Hi-Fi, although mine was a Hinari, and it had a black wooden frame, pretty sure the wood was MDF though, used to smell funny if you had it on too long :))
You know what's really sad though, last week I was on break at work, and I mentioned Hi-Fi stackers while me and a few people were bullshitting about tunes, and this girl I work with said "What's a Hi-Fi?" :O
What's a Hi-Fi? Eh?
This girl's only 8 years younger than me, surely that can't be that much of a generation gap? :O

Voyage - Brian Bennet (Yes the drummer from the Shaddows)
What a listen, seriously, give it a go.
Hang on the Shadows had a drummer? :O
I just thought they just had 278 guitarists :))
I'd put good money that Mel has this on vinyl!

That'll keep me busy :D
Trust me to be 20 odd years late to the party !
GET DOWN!!!!

Does anyone remember those Deep Heat compilations? that's the kind of thing I am talking about:
I sometimes which I had of made more of the early 90s. It was a great time to be young. Thankfully I made up for it in the 2000s.
