  • ok, that lasted more than an hour... interesting it is... The fighting is fun, plenty of violence :D Just about to go to Dojima's HQ (well maybe tomorrow, beddybyes time now heh).
I'll probably get distracted with running around kicking the shite outta people though :)
Oh, and as for that feckin karaoke thing, I'm fooked if I can press the right buttons to the beat lol.. might try that bit with the mouse/kb, as my muscle memory for wsad will be better the a/b/x/y on the pad :D
    So far, so meh :)
  • Haha well at least it's not a total fail, and smashing peoples heads in is at least kind of fun ;)

It is fun Kazuma Kiryu is a brick shithouse, and over the entire series it's amazing smashing muppets heads in, but it's especially satisfying smashing big bastids heads in once you get a bit levelled up ;)

  • I'm still surprised the released it on PC tbh, Yakuza has always been a PlayStation exclusive. Then again it's finally after only 13 years gathered enough Western popularity to go cross platform. I'm assuming the PC will be getting Yakuza Kiwami 1 and 2 at some point in the future.

  • It looks ok, and runs really well with all details at maximum. I'm gonna continue with it in a few minutes I think heh

I think you have to advance the story past the prologue before it gives you any kind of real freedom, do you still have a load of streets with red markers on the map that you can't go down?

Some of the Yakuza titles give you a slight amount of freedom, but kind of force you along near the start, but once you advance the story a bit more the map opens up, and you can go into other places

  • I've just kicked the shite outta the fellas at the Dojima HQ, then battered Kuze (I reckon it's his fault I cannot play the Sega games lol).

On Chapter 2 now. Met some mysterious stranger guy, now off to beat up some street thugs for summat to do :D

  • Yeah the UFO Catcher is considerably easier in Yakuza 0 than the rest of the series, plus you don't have to win anything for Haruka, because she hasn't been born yet :))

  • I've played about 9 or 10 hours now, and I'm still only on Chapter 3 (some dude named Majima). Ok, I did spend a teeny-weeny bit of time prowling the town beating up people... But even so, the amount of dialogue etc. goes on forever!

It's worth it the story in these game always seems a bit cheesy, and a bit odd, but usually by the end of the game it's totally worth it. That goes for the entire series. Yakuza 0 is a super whoa type moment for somebody who's been with the series since day 1, but it's also a great place to start for those who haven't. Y0 was the first game that let you play as Majima, and throughout the later games when people got to play as multiple characters the fans were always like "Why not Majima?". Up until 0 the only game you play as him in was Dead Souls, which is a dream game anyway, and not canon, but still awesome in it's own weird way.

Goro Majima plays a heavy part in the whole saga's story and development as a friend and rival to Kiryu, if you like this game enough, and they bring the Kiwami's out on PC it'd be worth investing in them. The first Kiwami adds nothing to the original Yakuza really, but it's got the 0 engine, and elaborates a bit more on Nishikiyama's story. It was just different enough to make it worth buying for somebody that'd already played the original to death, but not that much that's why sega only charged $29.99 for it instead of full price. Was still worth playing through, and with the multiple fighting styles from 0 it made the boss fights from the first game so much more interesting (The series before 0 literally has Kiryu perma fixed in his Dragon of Dojima Style)….You won't get that just yet, or even when you do it'll be weak and useless, don't worry that's not a spoiler from the menus you always know you're gonna get a 4th fighting style once you've got the other 3....But once you level that up you'll be able to f*ck people up like you were back in the Commonwealth ;)

Don't speed through this game too quick though if you complete all the sub stories you'll get......well that would be telling ;)

...and like I say enjoy playing as Majima your first experience with the game gives you something me and a potential million other fans waited over a decade for ;)

As for Kiwami 2, it's not out here yet, and I purposely didn't download the demo for it from PSn, as I want a vanilla experience when I play it, but I literally have about 2 weeks now to finish Yakuza 6
…..I can't finish a yakuza game I've been distracted from on and off in such a short time, my minimal for one of these games is about 3 months
. At least with 6 you're back to just playing as Kiryu though, so no weird intertwining stories between characters, and so on....

  • Oh oh, I've just found an Outrun arcade cab :D There goes another hour lol

I'm quite enjoying it, wandering around to see what is about is fun (it helps too that I can beat people up too). I wish there were more places you could go inside though.

  • It's a little less restrictive in Yakuza 6, I think people got kind of annoyed, about all these buildings that were about that you couldn't go in.

There was a really shitty substory in the original Yakuza 1, or maybe it was 2, but there was a locker key you could only pick up during a substory, if you didn't get that you couldn't complete the game 100%, same with yakuza 2 there was a substory that you had to beat an old guy at Shogi 3 times in a row......SO both ganked you into multiple playthroughs.

Sega have thankfully fixed that bullshit now....

  • Some little girl who now calls me Daddy keeps bothering me to get her those plush toys from those grabbing games.. She has had four off me now.. Thinking about how I can sell her into slavery if she keeps hassling me lol
Part way through Chapter 4, will maybe continue with it tomorrow after work if I'm not too tired :) Oh, and slapping people silly with the baseball bat is soooooo satisfying lmao

Well I'm not playing it right now, but Amazon says my copy of Yakuza Kiwami 2 has shipped today....Woohoo!

Better get 6 finished off quickly then...

Was gonna have a quick blast of ESo, but the basts have got the servers down for maintenance right now, put Monster Hunter on, but the events and stuff right now are a bit crap tbh.

Bugger me Team Gotaku's version of Fist of the North Star is out on October 2nd as well! Sweet! Better get my pre-order for that in as well, I'm not missing out on that. I've said it before, and I've said it again, I've been waiting close to 25 years now for a good Fist of the North Star game, and this looks like it could finally be it...

  • I meant to play some more Yakuza 0, but I was distracted writing some code for the Next, :/

Might try to get a few games in this weekend :)

  • Super League Manager (Amiga)

I've always been terrible at this game but somehow after 6 games I'm 2nd in the table!
There's every chance I won't finish last, it really is very exciting!

I've been Hitting ESO hard for the last week or so even though I have 12 million other games I could be playing. I even had a relapse on Monster Hunter the other week, and it was actually quite fun....

I have however been trying to pound Yakuza 6, in a pathetic attempt to finish it off so I can play Yakuza Kiwami 2.....

Nope FAIL of epic proportions, still playing 6, I've had Kiwami 2 for weeks now, and Fist of the North Star has just showed up today :))

But this is the Fist of the North Star game I've been waiting for, it's been probably over 20 years, and here it finally is, a potentially "good" Fist game.....

Not a crappy interactive movie game, not a crappy jap only rpg, not a crappy sub standard walk along and idly punch the same enemy over, and over, and over, not a crap or average 1 on 1 fighter.....Nooooooo......No a real game with some substance, and a story, and some other stuff :O

I'm probably gonna install it now, goodbye Mortal Kombat :))

  • I've been playing Forza Horizon 4. Best game of the series so far and possibly the best-looking game I've seen on an Xbox One. Looks absolutely stunning in 4K!

Also been playing Skyrim again, getting all the main/guild/DLC stuff done on the Xbone, just so it's another game done. I've finally downloaded the DLC for Witcher 3 too, so I might make a start on that while I'm tying up loose ends. Trying to get a few thngs finished before RDR2 comes out.

While I've been getting into Skyrim, I thought I'd give Daggerfall a good too for a laugh (never managed to get it running before), just casually messing around with it on the laptop. It's flippin' massive! Even just the first town I've come across is probably bigger than every town in Skyrim combined. Mental!

Nah I played the demo a while back and it was pretty good, it's made by the same people who made the Yakuza series (so there's an instant win for me anyway), and the tutorial is Kenshiro's battle with Shin (In the first series of the anime, or early on in the movie if you like). The actual game seems like it's pretty open world, which is good as like I mentioned above every Fist of the North Star game to date, has either been a sub standard beat em' up, a 1 on 1 fighter, or an unplayable JRPG....

Of course yesterday due to the time it took to arrive, and the time it took to install, and the time it took to download all the day one DLC crap, and patches, I didn't even get to have a go of it yesterday.

I'm playing all my daily sh*t on ESO at the minute so I still might not get to it today either....
